Dear Fuller Families,

As we gear up for another productive week at Fuller Elementary, I wanted to bring some important updates to your attention.

Firstly, I'd like to bring your attention to the photo in the header of the newsletter. I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Wilbert for her quick thinking and heroic actions during a recent incident at breakfast. Her swift response in performing the Heimlich maneuver on a student who was choking ensured the safety and well-being of our school community. Mrs. Wilbert, your dedication to our students is truly commendable.

Please note that Tuesday and Wednesday of this week will be designated as closed campus days due to state testing. This measure ensures a focused and conducive environment for our students taking the 4th Grade Science SRA, 5th Grade Science STAAR, and 1st/2nd Grade RLA SRA assessments.

Additionally, let's take a moment to celebrate some special occasions within our Fuller family. On the 24th, we'll be celebrating Mrs. French's birthday. Mrs. French plays a vital role as our district librarian and we appreciate her contributions to promoting literacy and learning across our campus.

Furthermore, mark your calendars for the 26th as we celebrate the birthday of bilingual Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Connell. Join us in sending warm wishes to these dedicated members of our school community.

Lastly, don't forget about our Fuller Family Gatherings on the 26th. Families of PK-2 students are invited to join us at 8 AM, followed by families of 3-5 students at 9 AM. These gatherings provide an opportunity for us to strengthen our school-home partnerships and foster a sense of unity within the Fuller community.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Let's make this week a great one!

Remember, We are Fuller, We are Family!

What school am I zoned for?

Returning Transfer Students

Returning transfer students residing outside of the Aubrey ISD attendance zones and returning students requesting an elementary campus transfer must complete the transfer renewal application. Approved transfer renewals (students who were approved to attend and are enrolled during 2023-2024) can then complete the online registration.

New Transfer Students

Families residing outside of the Aubrey ISD attendance zones can complete a transfer application if they are interested in having their children enrolled at Aubrey ISD. Space is limited and transfer decisions will not be made until enrollment is finalized and may be after the first day of school. Transfer students are encouraged to enroll in their home campus until accepted in case the grade level or campus closes. New transfers cannot register online unless they have been approved and have completed the transfer paperwork. A student who moved out of the district during the school year will need to complete a transfer application.

School Store Fundraiser! School Store Fundraiser!

Hello Parents,

I want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.

If your family has not participated, there's still time!

This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.

Please help now. It really will make a difference.

Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000369738 to show our valued teachers your support.

Thanks

Jackie Fuller Elementary School

P.S. Family participation is the key to our success, and we are counting on you!

District Policy on Student Illness

Parents, if your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, please keep your student home until symptom free 24 hours without the use of medications. This will greatly reduce the spread of illness, and help us keep our Students, Faculty and Staff Healthy. Per our student handbook:

Illness (All Grade Levels)

"When your child is ill, please contact the school to let us know he or she will not be attending that day. State rules require schools to exclude students with certain illnesses from school for certain periods of time. For example, if a child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medications. Students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea-free without use of diarrhea-suppressing medications for 24 hours (p. 69)."

If your student is sent home from school due to illness they will need to be symptom free 24 hours prior to returning unless cleared by a healthcare provider and note provided. If your student is sent to school before 24 hours without a doctor's note, you will be called by the nurse to come pick up your student. If your student is to be out longer than 24 hours, please provide a parent or doctor's note and e-mail: sharrison@aubreyisd.net.

If your student is due or has had recent immunizations please e-mail them to Nurse Perlick at tperlick@aubreyisd.net so that she can keep your students records updated. If your student is behind on immunizations they will not be able to attend class and you will have to come pick up your student. These will also not be excused absences. Thank you for your help.

ATTENDANCE ATTENDANCE

Here at Fuller, our campus wide attendance goal is 96%.

During the first nine weeks of school, five grade levels met or exceeded the campus' attendance goal.

Here at Fuller, we will continue to recognize attendance, engage students and families, monitor attendance data, provide early outreach and respond to barriers of attendance.

Families, please remember a habit of attendance is a school readiness skill. If your child is going to be absent, please notify your child's classroom teacher and our campus registrar sharrison@aubreyisd.net.

PARENT/DOCTORS NOTES- Please be sure you emails regarding absences to sharrison@aubreyisd.net. You may also drop a hard copy of a parent or doctor's note in the front office. Parents, please email notes to Mrs. Harrison as well so that she can document absences as they occur. Once we come back from break, we will not be able to access semester 1 to adjust attendance. Thank you.

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival and Dismissal

*** Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and on school property ***

According to Texas law crosswalks are for pedestrians and not cyclist. Therefore, students MUST walk their bicycles across all crosswalks.

We also ask that bike riders walk their bikes when on campus for safety of all.

Thank you for your attention to this.

Dismissal Issue

There is an issue on Quicksilver at the 3rd-5th grade car line exit. Vehicles are parking too close to the intersection which puts our Students and Crossing Guards in an unsafe environment.

When the cars park in the red marked areas, vehicles exiting the car line cannot exit safely without coming out in the street. So to prevent any accidents, I will be placing 6 cones in the area. I have suggested to parents who parked there, to pull up to the school zone sign and park there.

I have included a map of the location with "NO PARKING IN RED AREAS" on the map.

Attendance

Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.

A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.

In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
