Partnering with Families Through Grade-Level Transitions
The transition from elementary to middle school, or from middle to high school, is a major milestone for both students and parents. Our secondary students are currently learning about the next steps in their educational journey, including the programs and opportunities available to them at the next level.
As parents, there are several ways you can help prepare your student (and yourself) for this exciting new phase:
Attend parent nights and grade-level transition events to learn more about the new campus and meet teachers and staff.
Attend sporting and school events to build school spirit and help your student feel connected to their new community.
Follow your student’s campus on social media to stay connected and get a glimpse into daily student life, events, and campus highlights.
Be sure you are opted in to receive campus communications through ParentSquare so you don’t miss important updates, events, and deadlines. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference as students take this important next step.
Family Literacy Nights - Building Strong Readers—Together
Families can expect engaging games, shared reading experiences, and simple tools that make learning fun and accessible for all ages. At Life School, we believe strong literacy skills are built through everyday moments, and these events are one of the ways we partner with families to support lifelong readers. Be sure to check your campus newsletter for specific dates, times, and event details.

CTE Programs: Building Pathways to Real-World Careers
Life School is proud to highlight the value of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in preparing students for success beyond high school. CTE programs give students practical skills, industry certifications, and real-world experience in fields like Arts & Communications, Business & Finance, Health Science, IT, and STEM, connecting classroom learning directly to career opportunities.
Students at Life High School Waxahachie and Life High School Oak Cliff can also enroll in Texas State Technical College’s dual credit program, earning certifications in high-demand fields such as Welding, HVAC, Diesel, and Cybersecurity, giving them a head start in the workforce.
As we celebrate CTE Awareness Month, Life School continues to empower students through hands-on training, industry partnerships, and high-quality education, preparing them for lifelong achievement.
