Hoyne Happenings
Hello Families!
Last week we had an amazing week celebrating inclusion. It was awesome to hear the great conversations around how we can make everyone feel like they belong. On Wednesday, staff participated in professional development around our literacy pilots. Many staff and students showcased the amazing work they have done here at Pembroke this year, including 3 Pembroke students who sat on a panel for all K-5 teachers in the district. Check out the pictures below! We are so proud of all of our students and staff for being leaders in this work!
Over the weekend many of our 4th and 5th graders participated in Science Olympiad. They did an amazing job representing Pembroke and showed Pembroke Pride throughout the day. A huge thank you to all of the parent and staff volunteers who coached events to make this possible. And a huge shout out to Mr. Zbanek and Mr. Warnemuende for organizing and leading Science Olympiad.
Did you know that April is School Library Month? School libraries are integral in improving student achievement, promoting accessible access to information, teaching skills students need to access, evaluate and use information, and building a sense of lifelong learning. We are so lucky to Mrs. Julie Green, our amazing school librarian, are thankful for all she does for Pembroke.
This week we hope to see you at our Celebrate the Arts Night from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday. We will have fun for the whole family and you can check out your student’s artwork. This week we also have Fun Day pictures on Tuesday and no school on Friday.
Also please remember that the Witherbee Loop is not for parking. The loop is designated for 2nd grade parent drop off only.
Have a great week!
Colleen Hoyne

Classroom Environment Form
During spring, thoughts turn to the 2025-2026 school year and the student placement process. The student placement process is a team effort conducted with great care and consideration of the growth and development of all students. A balance of character strengths, academic ability, social-emotional growth, individual and instructional needs are taken into consideration.
Any information about your child that you, as parents, may wish to share that will help us make our decision will be taken into consideration. If you would like to share information about your child, you may use this form. Please do not request an individual teacher or include names of students other than your own. Rather, we ask you to give us additional information that will help us select the right classroom for your child. It is important to note that with or without information from parents/guardians, the staff will review each student's needs individually and select the learning environment in which we believe he/she will learn best.
If you wish to share information, please complete this form by Tuesday, April 22nd 2025. Please note that families do not need to fill this form out, it is only necessary if you have information you would like to share with the team.
