Principal Update
Dear Mason Families-
Happy October! It is hard to believe how quickly the school year is moving along. We have been placing a special emphasis on three important school expectations that help make our school a safe, respectful, and successful place for everyone:
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself. We are reminding students to respect personal space and make safe choices with their bodies.
- Be respectful to others with your words and actions. Kindness matters! We encourage students to use positive words, listen to others, and treat classmates and adults with respect.
- Try your best and work hard. Every student is encouraged to give their best effort, persevere when work is challenging, and take pride in their learning.
We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home. When school and families work together, our students are better equipped to make positive choices and be successful both academically and socially.
As we look ahead, please remember that the end of the first marking period is October 29th. Parent-teacher conferences will also be taking place on October 28th and 29th, providing a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, celebrate progress, and discuss ways we can continue to support your child's growth. Please look to your child's teacher for an opportunity to sign up for a conference time.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are proud of our students and all the hard work they are putting into their learning each day.
Warmly,
Amanda Pawlik
Principal

GBCS Needs Bus Drivers
As you may have noticed, schools across the state are experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. With such a large number of district buses on the road every day, the need for new drivers at GBCS is almost continuous. We are currently hiring and provide free training and licensing. There are full and part-time opportunities available! If you have ever considered becoming a bus driver, we would love to talk to you! Please call 810-591-8965 or stop in to 2500 E Maple Ave, Flint, MI 48507 and talk to Bonnie or Adam at GBCS Transportation or apply online!
