Students participated in a formal luncheon. Volunteer High School's culinary department prepared lunch with salad, lasagna, bread and a cookie. In this round, students held conversations with seven other people at their tables, including community members and peers. Students were judged on communication skills, table etiquette, and other soft skills.

The top seven students will take a field trip on Monday to Shepherd's Center in Rogersville to complete a service project for the community. Afterwards, students will eat at the Hale Springs Inn. They will be judged on their service project and lunch etiquette. The final three students will complete a writing assignment to present to the CHIS school body at our House games on May 17th at 1:30 p.m. The Amazing Shake Winner will be announced afterwards. Parents are welcome to attend. CHIS is building leaders! We are so proud of all our students!

Students participated in Work the Room. In this round, students networked with twenty community members for 40 minutes. They talked to as many adults as they could to earn a score of up to five points from each person. Students were judged on the ability to hold conversations, eye contact, and hand shake.

Students participated in The Guantlet. This round included real life scenerios in which students were questioned by community members. Eleven stations with props included a hairdresser, movie theater, bank, and others. Students were scored on communication, ability to answer questions effectively, and other soft skills.

The Mystery Field Trip destination this year will be TieBreakers in Johnson City TN! Permission slips went home today with students.

The total cost of the trip is $20 and that includes lunch! Permission slips and money are due Friday, May 17th. The trip will be Tuesday, May 21st.
