From the Desk of Dr. Rikki Hunt Taylor

Dear Meridian PCS Parents and Families,

Thank you for helping make Black History Month a meaningful celebration across our school community. Throughout February, scholars participated in culturally rich lessons and activities through CREW clubs, community circles at the ESC, spirit week fashion and history at the MSC, and visits from community partners. These experiences helped students explore history, culture, and leadership while strengthening our sense of community.

As we look ahead, re-enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is now open. We encourage families to secure their student’s seat early. The process takes about 10 minutes with our Enrollment Team during school hours. Families can also earn referral incentives by inviting friends and family to join the Meridian PCS community.

In March, we will celebrate National Education Association’s Read Across America, as we continue expanding our focus on Language, Literacy, and the Arts through reading activities and creative expression across classrooms.

We are also excited to launch a 6th Grade Academy pilot program for the 2026–27 school year, designed to better support students as they transition from elementary to middle school with strong academic and community-building support. Join me for a Schoolwide Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, March 11 at 5:30pm - we have big news for 2026-27 and you don’t want to miss it! Click here to RSVP.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our scholars and school community.

With Literacy and Justice for All,

Dr. Rikki Hunt Taylor

Executive Director

Campus Connect

Stay connected with what’s happening at each campus:

ESC – Intramural Basketball

Our ESC intramural basketball season was a slam dunk! Students strengthened their skills, practiced teamwork, and showed great sportsmanship throughout the season. From exciting plays to encouraging teammates, our student athletes brought energy and school spirit to every game. We're proud of their growth on and off the court!

MSC – Q2 Awards Ceremony

We are so excited to celebrate our MSC students' accomplishments during the Quarter 2 Awards Ceremony! Each grade level recognized scholars who performed well and made the Honor Roll, High Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll lists.

During the ceremony, Core Value Awards celebrated students who embodied each of the MPCS core values for the second quarter. Owl-Standing Awards were given to students who embodied ALL the core values every day, all quarter long. Teachers also recognized students from each grade level who demonstrated outstanding performances in the Creative Arts.

Congratulations to all of our Quarter 2 student scholars and athletes!
