The News The News

Wow! What a midsummer sports day it was today! I posed a this question to my son, if you were a professional golfer would you rather be tied for the lead and in the clubhouse or tied for the lead with one hole to play? That was the finale of The Open championship today. Cameron Young finished the tournament with a nine under par. Then Young had to wait two hours for the final group to finish which included Ryan Fox. Fox, who was tied with Young, hit a clutch birdie on the final shot of the day to win. He knew what he needed to do and stepped up and did it. All Young could do is watch, helpless!

Then Spain winning the World Cup in dramatic fashion 1-0 topped it all off!

We are growing closer to the beginning of the 2026-27 school year! Some of you are excited. Others, not so much. Either way, the day is approaching quickly!

It is Dead Week for July. There will be no sports practicing this week, voluntary or involuntary! Everyone enjoy their week off before Fall practice begins in earnest.

Below is a graphic showing some very important early dates. The most important is schedule pickup day on July 27. Students and a parent/guardian may come to the school at the appointed time to pick up student schedules, purchase parking spots, and lockers. Parking permits are $20 and lockers are $15. Students MUST bring their drivers license and proof of insurance to obtain a parking permit. Only the student or parent/guardian will be allowed to purchase a parking permit. No one will be allowed to come early. Everyone must come at the appointed time or later. If you have multiple students, please bring all students at the YOUNGEST students' time. The appointed times are below:

Seniors at 9am

Juniors at 10am

Sophomores at 11am

Freshmen at 1pm

8th Graders at 2pm

Note: If a student is purchasing a parking permit they can come to the school anytime next week between 8am and 3pm (Monday through Thursday) to pick up the required documentation.

7th Grade Open House will be on Tuesday, August 4 at 6pm. The student and a parent/guardian must be present. Students will be able to get their schedule, meet their teachers, tour the school, and purchase lockers.

See you soon!

Bart Moss

Principal

P.S. The world record was set in the mile run this week as well by Josh Kerr (Scotland). He ran the mile in 3:42.66 (an average of 16.2 mph). Incredible!
