Lincoln Family Newsletter- April 2026
It is great to be back in school after spring break and already into the month of April. April is a time of growing and energy outside and in our school. As we move into the final quarter of the year, we encourage all students to stay focused, maintain strong habits and celebrate the continued growth of our students. We appreciate the continued support from our families and community. Let's make April a month of positivity, perseverance and achievement for everyone!

The Adventures of 4K
In 4K (and Early Childhood), our mission statement is: "We are safe, we are helpers, and we have fun!" This sentiment has rung true all year as our AM and PM classes learn life skills, social/emotional skills, early literacy, early math concepts, hands-on science, and interactive social studies. We work together to solve problems, to create, and to understand each other.
These incredible students are well on their way to kindergarten readiness as they learn to navigate all that Lincoln Elementary has to offer!
Music In Our Schools Month
March was Music in Our Schools Month! We are so grateful that music class is a part of our school day at Lincoln and in Whitewater! What ways do you celebrate learning about music? Chat with your family and community members about why music is important to you!
Fine Arts Night is almost here! Below you will find a timeline for each concert and call time by grade level. We have been working hard to learn new instruments, concepts, and songs and look forward to sharing it all with you!

Art Education Leadership Award is at Lincoln!
Mrs. Belzer has been selected to receive the Artsonia's annual Art Education Leadership Award. This award honors educators who continually inspire their peers through their online school galleries on Artsonia. Mrs. Belzer's digital gallery reflects true creativity, dedication and innovation. Her students are fortunate to receive such high-quality art education and her peers look to her for guidance and inspiration.
Third Grade Lego Club
In March the 3rd graders had the opportunity to learn coding and build with Legos.
4th Grade Art Gallery Visit
Students recently visited the Crossman Art Gallery on the UW-Whitewater campus to enrich their literacy module, Art Everywhere. The gallery featured work by an internationally recognized artist and professor from Beijing, China, Fei Jun. He specializes in digital, interactive, and AI-driven art. Students especially loved the interactive nature of some of his artwork.
Daily Breakfast
Breakfast Eaters- Breakfast is FREE for all Students for the school year
Any student who would like a breakfast provided by the school will be offered one. Students who are car riders or walkers and who would like breakfast should arrive to school at 7:30 and enter through the TURTLE DOORS (door number 7). Parents should drop off in the one way drop off line and students can walk to the turtle doors (next to garden). Bus riders can enter the cafeteria upon arrival if they are eating breakfast. There will be NO BREAKFAST SERVED AFTER 7:55AM to ensure that students are in their classrooms ready for the day at 8:00AM
Attendance Matters
Our goal at Lincoln is for every student to attend school at minimum 95% of school days! Last month our school wide attendance rate was 94.43%. Let's be above 95% this month!
Congratulations to our March Kindness Kid
7 Mindsets- The Time is Now
This month students are learning learning about making the most of each day. It encourages students to live in the present and take action toward their goals.
Mindset Matters:
- Embrace every moment
- Get in the zone
- Let yourself be vulnerable
- Act with purpose
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Excavation work has started between the middle school and Lincoln, as well as on the track, to facilitate the construction of a new and safer bus drop-off and pick-up loop. The area will be completely fenced off, prohibiting entry for both students and adults. We encourage families to make alternative arrangements for those who walk home or are picked up in that vicinity. We know when this project is completed it will make a better and safer environment for our students!
