Estimadas familias de James John,

Definitivamente estamos de regreso y en pleno apogeo y se siente genial. Por muy ocupados que puedan estar nuestros días, es fantástico ver a todos nuestros niños comprometidos con el aprendizaje y luego ver a los maestros informar su día con sonrisas; siempre pone una sonrisa en mi corazón.

Espero que su reunión de la PTA de ayer por la tarde haya sido productiva y espero reunirme pronto con nuestro Consejo Escolar para continuar nuestro trabajo para hacer realidad nuestro sueño.

También quiero pedirle a nuestra comunidad en general que practique el autocuidado. Si bien comenzar un nuevo año puede traer nuevos comienzos, durante esta época del año también trae desafíos y cambios que pueden manifestarse de muchas maneras diferentes. La depresión, el estrés y la ansiedad pueden parecer más intensos durante el invierno y nuestros estudiantes pueden sentirlo y requiere que todos tengamos buen corazón y mente. Tenga en cuenta que nuestras puertas siempre están abiertas y no dude en comunicarse con nosotros si alguna vez necesita ayuda. Pido disculpas por alterar el estado de ánimo, pero todos queremos asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes y familias tengan el mayor éxito posible.

Dicho esto, miro por la ventana de mi oficina y es una hermosa tarde. No olvide que la limpieza de nuestros terrenos y la recolección de latas es este sábado de 10 a 12. Eche un vistazo rápido al calendario de la próxima semana, tenemos un simulacro de incendio el miércoles y nuestro Kinder Connect es el jueves por la noche y el viernes por la mañana para nuestras familias entrantes.

Dear James John Families,

We are definitely back and in full swing and it feels great. As busy as our days can get, it is great to see all our kiddos engaged in learning and then seeing teachers debrief their day with smiles - always puts a smile on my heart.

I hope that your PTA meeting yesterday evening was productive and I look forward to meeting with our Site Council soon to continue our work to make our dream a reality.

I also want to ask our wider community to practice self-care. While beginning a new year can bring new beginnings, during this time of year also brings challenges and changes which can manifest themselves in many different ways. Depression, stress and anxiety can seem heavier during winter and our students can feel it and it requires all of us to be of good heart and mind. Please know that our doors are always open and feel free to reach out to us if you should ever need support. I apologize for bringing the mood down but we all want to make sure our families and students are as successful as possible.

With this said - I look out my office window and it is a beautiful afternoon. Don’t forget our grounds clean up and can collection is this Saturday from 10 - 12. Please take a quick look at next week's calendar, we have a fire drill Wednesday and our Kinder Connect is Thursday evening and Friday morning for our incoming families.

See Something, Say Something!

A lot of maintenance issues go unnoticed and ultimately un-taken care of at James John, It is no one’s fault, it’s just a busy place! This form is a way for the PTA to help streamline maintenance issues at the school. We are hoping members of the James John community can use this form when you notice something amiss around the campus, inside or out. A loose ceiling tile, broken play equipment, vandalism…these are just a few examples. The PTA will help alert Mr. Castillo and assist him in keeping track of district response. The filling out of this form does not guarantee action by the district or the school, but at least gives us a way to keep track and prioritize. Thank you for your help!

Core Values of James John

During last night’s PTA meeting, we welcomed School Climate Specialist, Kim Stockstad. She is asking for community involvement to come up with a new list of core values for James John Elementary. ¡Vea algo, diga algo!

Muchos problemas de mantenimiento pasan desapercibidos y, en última instancia, no se solucionan en James John. No es culpa de nadie, ¡es simplemente un lugar concurrido! Este formulario es una manera para que la PTA ayude a agilizar los problemas de mantenimiento en la escuela. Esperamos que los miembros de la comunidad James John puedan usar este formulario cuando noten que algo anda mal en el campus, dentro o fuera.
