Pre-Sale Tickets Due on Wednesday! Pre-Sale Tickets Due on Wednesday!

Our annual school-wide carnival is on Friday, April 11th from 5:30-7:30. Ticket pre-sale order forms were sent home in backpacks on Monday and are due by Wednesday, April 9th.

This year, we have added even more new games and attractions. There will be a large slide, cotton candy, food trucks, cake walk, balloon artists, face painting, sports games, pig races, a foam pit and many other fun and exciting games. Donations for the cake walk are greatly appreciated and the class with the most donations will get an extra recess.

In order to make this event a success, we need volunteers to help run the games and attractions. We'd prefer adults working each game, but older, responsible siblings would be wonderful as well. You can find the volunteer sign-up HERE or the button below. All volunteers that sign-up ahead of time will receive a free $10 punchcard per shift they work. They will receive their free punchcards on April 11th when they check-in at the volunteer table.

Bond 2025: Zero Tax Increase - Vote April 8!

Be an Informed Voter: April 8 Zero Tax Increase Bond Issue

Over the past decade, thanks to strong community support, we have invested nearly half a billion dollars in building new schools, replacing outdated facilities, and adapting to our district’s continued growth – all without increasing taxes. In fact, our overall tax rate is nearly a dollar lower today than it was in 2014.

As one of the fastest-growing school districts in our area, North Kansas City Schools is continuously planning for the future to ensure that our schools meet the needs of students today and for years to come. Over the past year and a half, we have worked closely with families, staff, students, and community members to create a new Long-Range Facilities Plan that reflects the priorities of those we serve. Thank you to all who shared your feedback and ideas!

To begin construction on first phase of the plan, we are asking district voters to consider a $175 million zero tax increase bond issue on the April 8 ballot. This measure would fund essential improvements throughout the district without any increase in taxes, including:

  • Major renovations at Northgate and New Mark Middle Schools
  • Expanded fine and performing arts spaces at Oak Park and Winnetonka
  • Facility updates across the district, including a new gym at Oakwood Manor and upgrades to ensure our schools remain safe, modern, and welcoming
  • And more, including additional space and maintenance upgrades across the district

North Kansas City Schools has a proven track record of responsible financial management, completing major school improvements over the past decade without raising taxes. In fact, our tax rate has decreased by nearly a dollar since 2014. This bond issue continues that commitment to ensuring that every student, at every stage, has the world-class learning spaces they deserve.

Learn more about the zero tax increase bond issue at nkcschools.org/bond and mark your calendar to vote on April 8!

A Note from the Nurse A Note from the Nurse

Students are not allowed to carry any medications to school including cough drops. Parents are required to bring medication to school, and complete an authorization. Medication must be age appropriate, new in the original packaging, not expired. If medication is a prescription, the medication must be labeled correctly and if the order is not on the prescription, the authorization must be completed by the physician. If your student carries a medication to school, it will be kept in the nurse's office until a parent picks up, it will not be sent back home with the student.
