Chad Smith Appointed

Chad Smith Zone 2 School Board Member
Zone 2 Welcomes a Familiar Face and Dedicated Leader
We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our leadership team! During the June 6 School Board meeting, Chad Smith was officially appointed to fill the vacant seat representing Zone 2.
Chad was chosen from a pool of three dedicated Zone 2 residents who stepped up to serve our community. A Northwest Arkansas native, Chad returned to the area in 2008 and has proudly called Springdale home ever since.
A Deeply Personal Commitment to Our Schools
For Chad, this new role isn't just about governance—it’s about family and gratitude. He is the proud father of three children who have all come through the Springdale Public Schools, with his youngest recently graduating from Har-Ber High School.
When he isn't volunteering or advocating for education, Chad serves our community as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at First Security Bank and as a Board Member of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, bringing a wealth of sharp financial and professional experience to our board.
Chad’s Core Priorities: Putting Kids First
Chad is stepping into this role with an open mind, a passion for community service, and a clear vision for our district. He is focusing on:
Supporting Our Teachers: Ensuring our educators have the resources, backing, and environment they need to thrive.
Focusing on Student Success: Keeping a "Kids-Come-First" mindset to guide every single vote and discussion.
Being Visible & Approachable: Chad doesn't just want to sit in boardrooms. He plans to be a constant, active presence in our district—whether he's visiting schools or cheering from the sidelines at local athletic events. If you see him out and about, please say hello! He wants to hear directly from his constituents.
The Vision: "Raising Leaders"
Chad defines the ultimate success of Springdale Schools through a continuous cycle of community growth. His goal is to foster an environment where students can:
Grow & Succeed in the classroom.
Graduate with pride from Springdale Schools.
Work, live, and lead in the Springdale community as adults.
Looking Ahead
Chad will serve out the remainder of the term, which runs through 2028. He has already shared that he fully intends to run for reelection at that time to continue serving the community he loves.
Please join us in giving a warm Springdale welcome to Chad Smith! We are incredibly excited to watch him collaborate with our current board members to keep making our district the best place for students to learn and grow.
