Message from Principal Wadkins
Dear Families,
We just finished an exciting homecoming week where the school spirit was off the charts. I am so proud of our leadership classes - intro, advanced and CARE - who are really engaging students in not only fun activities but making opportunities for students to engage in social issues. At the homecoming game our student section numbered in the hundreds with students dressed in the theme and cheering on their peers on the field. The advanced leadership class reached out to Benson high school leadership students to do a joint Instagram post promoting the evening for both student bodies. The homecoming dance on Friday was held in the cafeteria with doors open to the courtyard. A record 660 tickets were sold for this Cleveland student only dance. The space was transformed with twinkle lights and decorations put up by a tireless work crew from the leadership classes.
Our new campus also got a thorough cleaning of windows, hallways and stairwells as one of the culminating parts of the contract to reroof the building. That work is all complete in time for our rainy season. This campus, while further away for many students and staff, is proving to be a place that our students are already making their own. I am happy to see all of the engagement of the student body and staff. I also want to send a shout out to our Weekend Warriors lead by Oren and Allison Eshel who came out on Saturday for another campus clean-up. Thanks for making our campus look great on the outside!

ATHLETICS
Soccer Postseason Changes & Upcoming Endowment Match
Important Playoff Format Update:
Beginning this fall, the OSAA reduced the total number of playoff spots for soccer and volleyball from 32 down to 24. To ensure our student-athletes still have maximum opportunity to compete, the 6A classification collaborated to establish a Qualification Round before the official OSAA cutoff date.
Here is how postseason selection will work moving forward:
Automatic Qualifiers: The 7 league champions plus the next 9 highest-ranked teams automatically advance to the OSAA playoffs.
Qualification Round: The remaining 16 highest-ranked non-qualifying teams will compete in a single Qualification Round, with the 8 winners advancing to complete the 32-team postseason field.
Upcoming Endowment Match vs. McDaniel High School Mark your calendars! Our soccer teams face McDaniel High School on October 15th.
Ticket Notice: Because this is an official OSAA Endowment Game, standard OSAA ticket prices apply for all spectators ($8 for adults, $5 for students). Our school sports pass or league passes are not valid for endowment games. Thank you for your support as we gear up for game day!

Saturday's Success
Thanks to everyone who joined us this past Saturday! We repaired 3 picnic tables and painted 2 more green, raked leaves in the courtyard, picked up trash (mostly on the west and south sides of the school), cleared many brambles in the parking area west of the school, and covered up graffiti on the red shipping container/fence and elsewhere.
Our November work party will be on Sat Nov. 14, 9 am - noon - you can find a full calendar here.
