GJPS Preschool Weekly Update
October 20, 2023
Frog Street Curriculum
Dear Families,
This week we’re beginning a new theme in our classroom, “My School and Me”. In the first week of this theme, children will be introduced to their classroom, their teacher, their classmates, and to the school campus. The first week of school will be very exciting for your child with so many new things to learn including new school routines. We will be talking about routines your child does at home to get ready for school, such as getting dressed, eating breakfast, and brushing teeth. Review with your child how he or she gets ready for school. Ask: What do you do first? Next? Last?
This week’s Family Connections activities can be found at

This week’s storybook, “Chloe Gets Ready for School” can be found at https://portal2.frogstreet.com/ebook/?bookname=FS20057_ChloeGetsREadyForSchool_eBook.
We’re so excited to continue exploring with your little one!
Sincerely,

Monthly Kindness Cart
Each month, we are looking for family volunteers to shine some kindness through small treats/kind gestures with our staff at Goshen Lane Prechool and Clark Hall Preschool. This could be cookies, donuts, coffee etc. The kindness carts will take place the last Friday of each month.
All About the Month of October
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a chance to spread awareness. During the month of October, we celebrate people with Down syndrome and make people aware of our abilities and accomplishments. It’s not about celebrating disabilities, it’s about celebrating abilities. We can learn all about our history. We have a right to speak out about what it’s like to have Down syndrome and to learn the real story of people like us.
