Disney Day - March 27th

Heritage raised the most money of all the elementary schools in our feeder area for MVHS Wish Week! We are so proud of our students and families for their generosity and support. To celebrate this amazing accomplishment, we will be having a Disney Day at school! Students are invited to wear their favorite Disney attire or dress up as their favorite Disney character for the day.

A couple reminders:

  • No masks

  • No face paint

And the best part… there is no cost to participate!

Looking Ahead: Our Class Placement Process

As we begin preparing for next year, we want to share a quick update on how we approach class placements. Rather than using a general input form, we are leaning into the deep expertise of our classroom teachers. Having spent the year getting to know your child’s academic, social, and emotional needs, our staff is uniquely positioned to build balanced, thriving classrooms for the fall.

A Collaborative Learning Model

Next year brings some exciting growth to the MPE experience! We will have several new faces joining our teaching staff, and we encourage you to start getting your students excited about the new journey ahead.

To provide the best possible support for every child, we utilize instructional models where our educators are committed to creating a cohesive, collaborative grade-level community where every student is supported by the whole team.

Building an Integrated Community

As we move into our initial year, we are intentionally working to create a thoughtful balance of students from both HE and SVE within our classrooms. This integration is essential to ensuring a unified, inclusive experience as we grow together as one MPE family.

Have specific insights to share?

If there is unique information regarding your child’s learning style that you’d like us to keep in mind, please reach out directly to their current teacher. We value your partnership and thank you for trusting our educators in this thoughtful process.

Art Market- April 3rd

Bring money for the Art Market on Friday, April 3rd!

It is Art Market time again! 5th and 6th graders will be selling their art during the 5th and final Heritage Art Market during Mornings with Moms on Friday, April 3rd from 7:45-8:30am. To support our artists, you can pay with cash or through the Heritage payment site with your phone and credit card. Artists will have the opportunity to be paid for their art! That's right this is not an art fundraiser, but an opportunity for our 5th and 6th graders to experience the life of a working artist. There will be a cash pay station. Do not pay the artists directly as they do not have change boxes, and all the money will be accounted for from the cash point of sale line.

A note for 5th and 6th grade families of participating artists. I know many students have been working hard at home, and some help from parents or siblings is alright. But please do not take this over for them. This is a student market, and I want to make sure they get the full experience of bringing their efforts to market. Also, very important: 5th and 6th grade artists that choose to do art market, and are cleared by Mrs. Myers, need to arrive before Art Market opens at 7:25am on April 3. This way they will be set up before shoppers arrive. Failure to be on time could result in a business license being revoked. If you have any questions about the art market please feel free to email Mrs. Myers (eamyers@dcsdk12.org).
