Reminder from the MPS Food Services Department: Double Meals

All students across the district receive their first school meal at no cost. However, any additional meals, including a second lunch, cost $3.35 and require parent/guardian permission.

Students must also have sufficient funds in their meal account or cash available at the time of purchase to cover the cost of the additional meal.

This procedure helps ensure families are aware of and approve additional meal purchases, preventing unexpected charges.

If you would like to give your child(ren) permission to purchase double meals, please email Tracy Blanchard at blanchardt@monsonschools.com or send in a written note.

Thank you for your cooperation and support!

🌎Joining in with our 4th Grade Making a Difference in the World Through Acts of Kindness🌎

In honor of Kindness Month, our fourth graders have an opportunity to spread kindness around the world! We will be collecting school supplies to bring directly to refugee camps in Bangladesh in mid-November. This is an optional activity, and donations of any size are greatly appreciated!
Students will also have the opportunity to write a letter to a child in Bangladesh and, hopefully, receive a letter back from their new friend on the other side of the globe!
What a wonderful way to practice kindness, make connections, and remind our students that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference! Thank you for helping us spread kindness beyond our 4th grade classrooms!

Brook Trout are coming to GVS! Teaching with Trout Program

For our Teaching to Trout Program to be successful, we need parent support especially in terms of donating gallons of Poland Spring Water and assisting with the stream study. Please feel free to drop them off at Granite Valley School or send them in with your child.

Bring ROCKS Home!

The K in ROCKS - Kindness

We invite our families to join us in reinforcing the importance of kindness and the positive impact it has on our school community.

One way to encourage children to recognize and appreciate kindness is by asking:

The "Notice" Prompt

"Did you see anyone do something kind today? What did they do, and how did it affect the room?"

When you see acts of kindness in the community, point it out!

By encouraging our students to notice acts of kindness, we help them recognize that even small gestures can make a big difference in someone else's day. The more we notice, celebrate, and model kindness, the more it becomes part of who we are as a school community.

Together, we can help our students grow stronger with every step!

Any student who turned in a reading log will get a free ticket to either game. Students who did not turn in a log are still welcome to purchase tickets.
