This March, we are focusing on Unity. In our school community, unity means that while we are all unique individuals with different backgrounds and talents, we work together toward a common goal: a safe, supportive, and successful environment for every student.

When students practice unity, they learn that our differences aren't just things to be "tolerated"—they are strengths that make our "team" better. Whether it’s on the playground, in the cafeteria, or during a group project, we are teaching our students that we go further when we go together.

🌟 How We Build Unity:

• Inclusion: Looking for the student standing alone and inviting them to join the group.

• Common Goals: Learning how to compromise and cooperate to solve problems.

• Celebrating Diversity: Learning about and respecting the different cultures, languages, and traditions that make our school special.

🏠 Unity at Home:

• Find the "Common Thread": Talk with your child about someone they think is very different from them. Then, help them find three things they actually have in common (e.g., they both like pizza, have a sibling, or enjoy gym class).

• Family Teamwork: Give the family a "mission" (like cleaning the garage or cooking a meal) where everyone has a specific role that is vital to the team’s success.

• Open Conversations: Encourage curiosity over judgment. If your child notices a difference in someone else, use it as a chance to talk about how a garden is more beautiful with many different types of flowers.
