We will have our general meeting that evening as well as our presentation to the school board. OW presentation to school board will be on 2nd Floor. OW general meeting will follow the presentation, sometime after 7:30pm on the first floor. All are welcome!

Project Clothes Clean Up January-March 2026

We have scheduled clean up days for 2026 in the MMS basement to work on all the clothing donations: 3/14, 3/21, 4/18, 4/25. These times are open to adults and children 12 years and older (they do not need an adult to stay with them). The work will be done in Operation Wildcat Storage Room at MMS. There is no heat nor air conditioning in the room so please dress accordingly. We will meet in the lobby of MMS before heading down to the room. Attention MASD Seniors! Did you know that Operation Wildcat gives a scholarship every year to a high school senior? The award is $1,500/year for up to 4 years. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2025. The scholarship is for any student enrolled in Mechanicsburg Area School District, planning on attending a 4-year school, 2-year school, or trade school post high school graduation, full time, having a minimum 2.5 GPA, involved in community service and demonstrating a financial need. Operation Wildcat is having an Open House Saturday March 21st, 1:00 - 3:00 pm in its space in the MMS basement for any MASD family that needs assistance. Clothes, school supplies and books will be available to families. If you wish to attend, please sign up at https://www.timetosignup.com/operationwildcat/sheet/1382286 no later than March 7th. Sign up under the column for your oldest child's counselor; if you have more than one child in the district, you only need to sign up once, under the column for your oldest child’s counselor. Only those that have signed up in advance will be admitted. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BAGS SO BAGS DON'T GET CONFUSED. PLEASE NOTE: if you sign up, your name will not appear to the public. Thanks!

Winter weather is here and OW is in need of warm coats and mittens!

Please only donate new or slightly used clothing; do not donate any torn or stained clothing. We want clothing your children have outgrown, not outworn . Note: we accept only NEW socks and NEW underwear. To help us with sorting donations, please mark the bag on the outside. If possible, please leave donations at MMS.

Operation Wildcat is looking for co-chairs to help with Project Clothes. We have three chairpersons but need more for this project. This project has been overwhelmed in the best way with generous donations and a growing number of clothing requests. Project Thanksgiving needs paper ream boxes, preferably with handles. We are collecting the boxes year round to ensure we have enough sturdy boxes each year. If you have any to donate, please leave them at MMS (please leave a note on them "Project Thanksgiving") or contact the Project Thanksgiving chairperson at OwProjectThanksgiving@gmail.com if a large donation.

The next OW yard sale is just 8 weeks away (April 10-11) and we are in need of your donations! Clean out the closets, empty the drawers - and bring it to the OW warehouse on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 PM.

The warehouse is located at 507 N. York Street, Mechanicsburg. (Turn on to Pleasantview Drive - FIRST left into parking lost - stay straight to dock door 1 on the left).

The OW warehouse is collecting basic household tools to help families in our district.

We are currently looking for:

• Small tool boxes

• Hammer

• Tape measure

• Screwdriver set

• Pliers

• Adjustable wrench

• Utility knife

• Level

• Allen wrenches

We receive quite a few requests for simple, everyday tools. If you have extras or are looking for a reason to clean out and scale down, we would love to put them to good use. Bud and Bill will be assembling tool kits for the families. A separate collection box will be available on the loading dock on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 for tools and tool boxes. If we are going to continue holding the Yard Sale, we need help year round. It takes many hands to receive donations, organize, sort, price and skid the donations. All that the volunteer needs to do is accept donations at the warehouse. Instructions on what OW takes and where to place the donations will be posted at the warehouse, as will contact information for any questions. Students are welcomed! NOTE: In case of inclement weather the warehouse will be closed. Warehouse is located at 507 N. York Street, Mechanicsburg, 17055. Turn on to Pleasant View Drive - 1st left into parking lot to Dock Door 1.

PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF DONATIONS WHEN THE OW WAREHOUSE IS NOT OPEN!

Volunteers are needed to assist with the pick-up/drop-off of furniture items in the District. All items for pick up are either left outside or are in the garage - no heavy lifting up/downstairs!

For deliveries - all items are delivered to the families' doorstep.

There are no set days'/times to help - we work around the volunteers' and the families' schedules.
