Neon colors, headbands, leg warmers, and 80s-era jewelry were seen all over the school. The building buzzed with excitement with a hallway scavenger hunt that had students learning the lingo of the 80s and encountering iconic items like Game Boys, roller skates, and boom boxes.

To conclude their unit on the American Revolution, Roslyn Middle School Social Studies teacher Mr. Fox gave students the option of writing a song about the American Revolution, writing a poem, recording a newscast, or writing an essay. Students had the option of recording their project on FlipGrid, or performing it live in front of the class.

“Students showed incredible creativity in conveying what they learned about the American Revolution,” said Mr. Fox. “From dazzling song performances in class to professional-looking newscasts, I was so impressed by their effort and talent. I look forward to more projects like this as the year goes on."
