SEPTEMBER DAUBERS OF THE MONTH SEPTEMBER DAUBERS OF THE MONTH

Mrs. Patrick

This year, we are recognizing Daubers of the Month. Each month, we will select one boy and one girl from each grade level. All staff can nominate students who have shown an “out of the ordinary” amount of effort, character, improvement, and kindness. We are lucky to have restaurants and businesses around Llano who are donating lunches to these students. This gives us a chance to step away from campus for a minute and celebrate these kids being awesome. Our hope is that our Daubers of the Month transform into excellent LHS students, who then transition into successful, contributing adults who have learned compassion, character, and the value of hard work at Llano ISD.

NURSE PROKOP'S NEWS NURSE PROKOP'S NEWS

This is a reminder that all medication for students must be kept in the nurse’s office. If your student is needing to take medication during the school day, the medication must be brought to the nurse’s office in the original container, and the parent must fill out a consent form. The only exception to this rule would be an asthma inhaler or EpiPen, in which the doctor and parent, both, have given written consent for the student to carry this medication at school.

Medication consent forms and rules can be found at the link below.

World Geography - This week the students are going to be looking at the physical geography, history and everyday life in the Great United States of America.

Science - Students will continue to work on their Element project with Part 2: the presentation due on Friday, October 2nd.

Students are currently learning how to classify elements into metals, nonmetals, and metalloids.

ELAR- We are learning elements of plot, the different point of views, and text structure features with fiction and nonfiction. Also, being able to make the connection between the story and our own personal experiences.

7th Grade

Science - We will be continuing the study of the human body systems. Following the skeletal system, the students will learn how the muscular system works.

Inquire to a 7th grader what SMPSP means. Ask them which systems overlap with the skeleton to “make it all happen".

ELAR - The students will continue to hone their writing skills by learning how to correctly use dialogue in their compositions. We will identify possible themes that authors use in fictional text. Please remember that the Book Fair is upon us, and the students will be visiting the library this week, so if they ask for some spending money, don't be alarmed!

Texas History - This week in Texas History, students will identify the establishment of Catholic missions, towns, and ranches by writing an expository text, creating a blueprint of the mission or town, and creating a 3d model.

Mrs. Glasscock's ELA - Classes researched the origin of mums and Homecoming! After research was completed, each group made their own Homecoming mum!!!! All students thoroughly enjoyed this fun project!!!! (Pictures below.)

CHEER CHEER

Mrs. Kuykendall

LJH Cheerleaders had a busy Homecoming Week. They were invited to cheer at the Annual Logos Tailgate Party on Wednesday evening, and cheered at their first football games on Thursday night! They performed two different dance routines during halftime of the games. Our dress up themes were a great success, and we are so proud of all of the spirit and pride shown throughout the school.
