Eagle News and Notes
February 2026
Time is flying
By the time we get this newsletter out, we will be halfway through the 3rd quarter. The time is flying by. We are seeing some changes in the building with personnel shifts and some of the board personnel having to set up shop in our building. Please say hi if you see new faces and introduce yourself. More on that below.
In the meantime, please stay warm. We will eventually see warmer temps, but it is Northern Ohio so it may take a bit!
GO EAGLES!!!
2026-2027 Scheduling
Our Counselors have met with all of our students regarding scheduling for next year. If they have not submitted their schedule choices, It is important that they do so immediately. These are reviewed by the counselors and then inputted to allow them to continue the daunting and time consuming task of putting together the Master Schedule.
If your student plans on attending Penta, a COMPLETED course request is still needed in case that student changes their mind and decides to stay at the high school!
Thank you for your investment into your student's future.
Staff Changes
We would like to take a moment to wish Mrs. Brown well on her new position in the board office. She is still an Eagle, but in a new role. Congratulations on the new job!
Taking her place is Mrs. Taylor, who comes to us from the middle school. She is quickly getting up to speed on all things attendance and athletics. Please take a moment to welcome her to the high school and a new role as well.

Final Forms
If you and your student have already completed Final Forms, Thank you! If you have not, we need all students and parents to complete Final Forms as soon as possible. We do have a few stragglers. It will help us immensely to assure we have the best possible information. This is true for students that attend Penta as well as those who are here in the building.
Parking Permits
If you plan on having your student drive to school, please complete all necessary documents in Final Forms. The fee for the parking tag is $5.
Parking permits will be able to be purchased at any point during the school year , should your student begin driving later in the year, or acquires a car they can drive daily. They will be available in the office throughout the year. The fee will just have to be paid at the time the permit is purchased. The student will NOT be permitted to purchase a parking permit until the forms are completed in Final Forms by both parent and student. Please note that Deputy Cooper has been making a regular sweep of the parking lot to assure cars parked in our lots have tags, or are just there for a short time.
From the School Nurse!
With all the illness going around, and some of them keeping students out multiple days, please take a look at this and keep it in mind when debating about sending your student to school.

Senior Immunizations
Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective layer around the brain and spinal cord. This disease can be fatal or leave those who survive it with permanent disabilities. The meningococcal vaccine is the best way to avoid meningitis.
Section 3313.671 of the Ohio Revised Code states that students who do not provide documentation of this immunization are subject to exclusion from school.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding immunizations, please contact Dannelle Sutton, RN, School Nurse at dsutton@eastwoodschools.org or call the Ohio Department of Health Immunization Program hotline at 800-282-0546, or visit the ODH website.

Medication
Finals Forms has provided some confusion in regards to medication for our students. If your student will need to take medication at school, be it prescription or over the counter, you will need to print out the appropriate form on Final Forms, complete it and send it in to school. You will also need to provide a bottle of medication in its original container. We do not have medication (Tylenol, Advil, etc) to give to students.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the office and speak to the secretaries.
Free and Reduced Applications
Fees - IMPORTANT REMINDER
This is a policy that is set by the board and the secretaries will be adhering to it. If you have a balance, please make arrangements to pay the fees via PaySchoolCentral with a credit card, or in the office with exact cash or a check.
If you would like a copy of the policy, please contact the office and Mrs. Eaton or Mrs. Brown will be happy to provide it to you.
For our families of Seniors: It is also part of board policy that Seniors will not be issued their diplomas until all fees are paid and community service is completed. If you need to set up a payment plan, it is suggested you do this early in the year to ease the burden in May. Please contact Mrs. Jody Eaton to do so at jeaton@eastwoodschools.org or call her at the office at 419-833-3611.
