Hot Topic #1 - Grade Level Meetings
Last week, I met with each grade level to review our school-wide expectations. I provided updates to each class regarding academic performance, discipline, and the path forward. The administration team will be developing incentives to celebrate our students as we move forward toward meeting our goals.
Hot Topic #2 - Parent Conference Day
At the time of this missive, I hope you have received the link to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher on Thursday, October 21st. If you have not, please email Mrs. Yearwood at shemia.yearwood@fsd1.org.
We will dismiss at 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 21st. Parent Conferences will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Hot Topic #3 - Title 1 Compact Letters
Title 1 Compact Letters were sent home last week to be signed by both a parent/guardian and student. Please review the compact and return it to your child's fifth period teacher.
Hot Topic #4 - Report Cards
Report Cards were sent home digitally over the weekend. I have been made aware of an error that caused some first quarter classes not to print. Should you need an updated copy of your child's report card, please email your child's school counselor.
Hot Topic #5 - PAPER Tutoring Now Available
Earlier today I shared information regarding our new partnership with Paper. Students now have full access to an online tutor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Be sure to ask your child if they have used Paper!
Hot Topic #6 - Chocolate Fundraiser
We have selected the World's Finest Chocolate Holiday Continental Collection for our fall fundraiser! It is yummy selection of boxed chocolates and all boxes are $8.00 or less! World's Finest is a name that everyone KNOWS AND TRUSTS and it is made in the USA! A World's Finest Chocolate packet envelope came home with your student last week. Take a look at the brochure and the ORDER TAKER on the back side of the brochure. Parents, please sell at least 5 boxes to family, friends, and co-workers. The students REALLY enjoy the special incentives for participating. We hope you will continue to support our school and get involved. Do not sell door to door.
