    Bus Notes

From here on out bus notes will not be taken after 3:10.

On early outs they will not be taken after 12:40.

We want to make sure we ensure all students get on the right buses and this can be very difficult to do when notes are coming in while students are loading the buses. Also, if you call after this your child may not get the note of where they need to go.

    The importance of attendance

ChatGPT said:Here’s an even shorter version that captures the key points while keeping it under a 5-minute read:

The Importance of Regular School Attendance: Helping Students Become Productive Citizens

    Dear Families,

Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s success. It’s not just about academics—school helps children develop life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving, all of which are essential for becoming productive citizens in society.

    Why Attendance Matters

When students attend school regularly, they:

    • Perform better academically: Every day missed is an opportunity lost to learn.
    • Graduate on time: Regular attendance is crucial for completing high school and beyond.
    • Develop social skills: School is where students build friendships and teamwork skills.
    • Prepare for the future: A good work ethic begins with attending school regularly.

    The Impact of Chronic Absenteeism

Chronic absenteeism—missing 10% or more of school days—can have lasting effects at every grade level:

    • Kindergarten/Elementary (K-5): Early absences hinder literacy and math skills, making it harder to keep up with peers.
    • Middle School (6-8): Missing school disrupts academic progress, leading to lower grades and disengagement.
    • High School (9-12): Chronic absenteeism in high school often leads to dropping out and missing opportunities for scholarships or jobs.

    Long-Term Effects

Chronic absenteeism can increase the risk of:

    • Dropping out: Students who miss school frequently are more likely to leave school early.
    • Lower earnings: Graduates earn more over their lifetime than those who don’t finish school.
    • Social and emotional challenges: Missing school can lead to feelings of isolation or anxiety, further affecting academic performance.

    What You Can Do

    1. Prioritize attendance: Ensure your child attends school every day unless they’re sick.
    2. Set a routine: Establish a consistent bedtime and morning routine to help your child be ready for school.
    3. Stay involved: Attend parent meetings and communicate with teachers if your child is struggling with attendance.

    In Conclusion

Your child’s education is critical to their future. By making school attendance a priority, you’re setting them up for success both in school and later in life.
