This year Northwest Community Schools will transition from a trimester schedule to a semester schedule. This change is being made to enhance academic continuity and improve financial efficiency while maintaining the integrity of all of our programs.

This Sunday, January 18th, 2026 is National Maintenance Day! We would like to send a huge thank you to our maintenance crew for all the hard work you do each day!

Northwest Community Schools is excited to announce that Northwest High School’s Vocal Dimension has been selected to perform at the MSVMA Choral Hour during the 2025 Michigan Music Conference!

This honor is the result of a highly competitive blind audition process, where choirs from across Michigan are evaluated solely on musical excellence. Being chosen reflects the talent, discipline, and dedication of our outstanding singers.

Mark your calendars, Vocal Dimension will perform on Friday, January 23 at 3:00 PM in Grand Rapids.

Congratulations to Choir Director Matt Snell, Accompanist Jennifer Youngman, and our incredible Vocal Dimension students for earning this distinguished statewide recognition. We are proud to have you represent Mountie Nation!

In honor of National School Board Recognition Month, we sincerely thank the Northwest Board of Education for their hard work and dedication to our community.

Jackson District Library's 22nd Annual Young Poets Contest is now accepting entries from K-12 students in Jackson County.

Enter your poem by February 13, 2026 to qualify. Young Poets is open to K-12 students (including homeschool) in Jackson County only.

The annual Northwest Community Schools Talent Show will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the NWHS Cafetorium. All proceeds will support Henry Ford Hospital.

ALL AGES are encouraged to participate and share their talents! Be sure to sign up by January 25, 2026.

The next NHS Blood Drive is January 27, 2026, located at NWHS.

Michigan Reconnect is your ticket to a tuition-free college degree or certificate! The Reconnect program provides eligible students with a chance to work toward an associate degree or Pell-eligible skills certificate at in-district community colleges, tuition-free.
