“Foster Growth by Challenging Critical Thinkers to Take Risks,
Honor Differences & Care for Others”
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year! We were so excited to welcome your family back on Tuesday. It was wonderful to see students reconnecting with classmates and teachers after winter break. Everyone quickly settled back into their academic routines and dove right into exciting new units of study.
Many of our students embraced the new year as a chance to set personal goals. You can see some of their work displayed above. From handstands to riding bikes, reading harder books, and learning Spanish—students are eager to grow and take on new challenges!
In fifth grade, students explored research on the impact of New Year’s resolutions. They’ve been working on argumentative essays, either defending or dismissing the power of this annual tradition. It's been inspiring to see them develop and express their thoughts so confidently.
We are excited about the second half of the school year and look forward to all the learning, growth, and fun ahead!
NEW SPACES IN THE NEW YEAR
We are thrilled to announce that our new hallway remodel is complete! Our updated learning spaces are now bright, modern, and designed to enhance the educational experience. It has been a joy to see both students and staff engaging and collaborating in these new environments!
A huge thank you goes to our families and the PTO for their generous support in making this remodel possible. The funds raised through Digger Dash helped bring this vision to life, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
We invite you to come and see these wonderful new spaces the next time you’re in the building. We know you’ll be just as excited as we are about the positive impact these environments will have on our school community!
SPELLING BEE FINALIST ADVANCES TO DISTRICT
We are excited to share the results of Friday’s Gold Rush Spelling Bee! We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated. The level of preparation and confidence demonstrated by each student was truly impressive. Their ability to spell difficult words in front of their peers was nothing short of admirable.
While we are proud of every participant, only one student will have the honor of representing Gold Rush Elementary at the District-level competition. We are thrilled to announce that Kinsley Thornton will be advancing to the next stage of the competition!
A special thank you to Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Bergner for coordinating this event and making it such a success. Their hard work and dedication helped ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We wish Kinsley Thornton the best of luck as she moves forward in the competition!
