Here At JRB

Our community here at JRB welcomes all students’ family members who are veterans to our Veterans’ Luncheon! If you are a student’s family member and a veteran, we would like to honor you by providing you with lunch (Mac and Cheese with or without BBQ Chicken or a Cheeseburger) on Thursday, November 7th. Our guests sit with our students and enjoy the lovely and unique conversations that occur at lunchtime. In addition, some student work will be presented by some students.

The luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 7th at the following times:

1st Grade- 10:40

2nd Grade- 11:05

Kindergarten- 11:40

5th Grade 12:05

4th Grade- 12:40

3rd Grade- 1:05

We hope to see you there!

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to JRB via email, jrboffice@awrsd.org, or by phone at (978) 827-5750, by Monday, November 4th. Please state your name, the student’s name, grade level, and your choice of Mac and Cheese (with or without BBQ Chicken) or a Cheeseburger.

Our 5th grade will be heading to Outdoor Classroom in late May, and we will conduct our Outdoor Calendar Raffle in December. This fundraiser offsets the cost of this amazing trip for our kids. If you have a business that could offer a prize, we would be very thankful for your donation. If you are able to contribute a prize on your own, that is also very welcome. Below is a sample from last year so you can see how your business can be publicized. There is also a drawing video from last year that we put on our social media each day. Happy Friday!

I want to thank the families who have donated items to the nurses office recently!! It has been greatly appreciated!

The nurses office is still looking for any donations of the following items:

• Small Water Bottles
• Packaged/never been worn underwear
• Tissues
• Socks

Massachusetts DPH has noticed an increase in respiratory viruses and illness within public schools, which has led to an increase in cases of bronchitis and pneumonia. If your student is experiencing a cough and/or severe cold that seems to be getting worse or not going away after a couple of weeks, we encourage you to have them seen by their Primary Care Physician.

If your student is out sick with a fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, please see the following policies before you send them back to school:

• 24 hour Fever Free without the use of fever reducing medication
• 24 hours without vomiting/diarrhea
• If diagnosed with strep throat, 24 hours after first dose of antibiotic
