Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the gift of our Holy Cross parents—their love, wisdom, and dedication.

Bless them abundantly for the sacrifices they make and the guidance they give. Strengthen them with Your grace, fill their hearts with peace, and let their homes be places of faith, hope, and love.

May they continue to walk closely with You, shaping their children's hearts to follow Christ. Amen.

Dear Holy Cross Parents and Guardians,

On this Parent Appreciation Day, I want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to each of you. As we reflect on the blessing of parenthood and the gift of family, I am reminded of the sacred partnership we share in nurturing not only the minds, but also the hearts and souls of our students.

Rooted in our Catholic faith, we recognize parents' profound and irreplaceable role in shaping their children's lives through love and example. Through your constant love and faithful witness, you provide the strong foundation on which your children grow in character, wisdom, and faith. Your daily sacrifices, prayers, and unwavering support speak volumes about your commitment—not just to your children’s academic success, but also to their spiritual journey.

.

In the spirit of the Holy Family, you nurture your children with love, patience, and care. We are deeply grateful for the many ways you bless our school community.

Please find some updates below and a letter from the School Office with information regarding how to support the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF), our partner providing student scholarships.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Paola V. Clark, Ed.D.

Principal

FastBridge Assessments

As our students wrapped up KAP assessments, they will take the final round of FastBridge assessments of the year, which will provide valuable insight about their annual academic growth and areas of strength and opportunity.

A few reminders:

- Please ensure your student gets a good night’s sleep and eats breakfast.

- Encourage your student to work carefully and show their best effort.

- Assessments are mandatory, and it is essential that students be present. Please be on time and do not schedule any appointments on those days.

May Crowning

It will take place on Thursday, May 1, at 2:00 pm at the Church. Grades 2 and 8 will lead this special prayer service.

Holy First Communion

Our Grade 2 students will receive their First Communion this Saturday, April 26, and Saturday, May 3, during the 10:00 am Masses. Please join me in celebrating as they take this sacred step in their faith journey, receiving the Eucharist for the first time and welcoming Jesus more fully into their hearts.

Spring Concert

This year's concert will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 6:30 pm in the Gym. Please join us in support of our K–8 students as they share their hard work and talents through music and song.

Tardies and Absences

This is a reminder that students should be dropped off between 7:50 and 8:00 a.m. every morning. Being on time for school is vital to establish a routine, avoid missed educational experiences, bond, be consistent, and align with school expectations. We appreciate your cooperation.

If your student will be absent or tardy, please notify the Office (gradeschool@holycrosscatholicschool.com) no later than 8:15 am. All lunch counts must be in by this time.

Virtuous Formation Program/Education in Virtue Virtuous Formation Program/Education in Virtue

Holy Cross has adopted a School-Wide Positive Behavior Support System called the Be Holy Cross Virtuous Behavior Formation. Expectations are clearly defined under the “Be Holy Cross” framework. Students are expected to conduct themselves in keeping with the expectations set in this framework to be caring, responsible, obedient, and successful stewards. Individual, classroom, and school-wide expectations will be taught at the beginning of the school year and emphasized at various times. Students will be acknowledged for positive behaviors. This aligns with our annual theme: In a world where you can be anything...Be Holy Cross.

Education in Virtue is the Archdiocesan Catholic Social-Emotional Learning program, a key component of our Virtuous Formation Program. It provides a curriculum and resources developed by the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, based on St. Thomas Aquinas’ teachings on the virtues and gifts of the Holy Spirit. These resources provide a framework for helping people of all ages understand how to live more virtuously.

At Holy Cross, we highlight a virtue each month that is woven organically into lessons and our daily school life. These virtues are used in our announcements to guide our morning prayer, selection of the Saint of the Month, activities for our Faith Families, and classroom lessons. The virtue of April is Magnanimity.

The Saint of the month is St. Teresa of Calcutta.
