Message from the Principal
What a fun week we had for Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you so much to everyone who brought a sweet treat, wrote a kind note, donated to the PTO, or just said thank you. We appreciate it so much. May is such a busy season so the loving words and actions do not go unnoticed.
Teacher of the Month
Thank you to Haley Harrison for nominating Ms. Fairris for Teacher of the Month. It is well deserved! Ms. Fairris received a special certificate from State Representative Jamie Churches and signed by Governor Whitmer.

Run Club is Back!
Run Club students walk every Wednesday morning before school. Each Run Club morning is weather dependent, of course. If it is raining, or the weather is unsafe for runners to participate, that day's Run Club will be cancelled. Proper cold weather attire is recommended on days it is chilly. The course is the track located behind our school. Start time is 8:00 AM sharp. We will be on the track until the school doors open. Students will track their mileage each day they participate.
Bike to School
Wednesday, May 29th, 2024
Instead of taking the bus or getting a ride to school, take your bike and join your friends
for a ride your bike to school day.
Students are encouraged to ride their bike from home to school with parent’s approval.
If you are too far to ride or you want to ride your bike to school with a group, please see
attached map for our three group bike trains. Bike trains will be supervised and
major intersections will be blocked by the Gibraltar Fire and Police Departments.
All students participating in the bike train should meet at the meeting location at 7:55 am.
Parents may drop students off or ride along.
ALL KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE STUDENTS NEED TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
Bike trains will leave location promptly at 8:05 AM and proceed to Parsons Elementary.
Afternoon bike train will leave Parsons at 3:40 PM and head back to meeting location for parent pick up. Bike trains will have volunteer leaders and followers. Anyone picking up their child from the meeting spot please be there by 4pm or earlier.
Check out the PDF below for more info and maps of the bike train routes.
Here is the google form to participate!
Thank you to Jenny Wilhelm for organizing!

School Safety
All doors are locked during the school day. If you come to school, you will be buzzed into the foyer area and office and then asked to show identification before your child is released. All visitors/volunteers in the building must report and sign in at the office. Visitors must wear a badge in the school building. All volunteers in the classroom and for field trips must have a background check on file each year. Just a reminder that if you have a felony conviction you may not volunteer in the classroom or on field trips.
