CNE Rocket Families,

As we conclude another successful week at school, I want to thank you for the support and enthusiasm you've shown as we kick off the new year. It's been wonderful to see our students engaged in learning, making new friends, and embracing the opportunities ahead. The positive energy in our schools is truly a reflection of the strong partnership between our staff and families.

With Labor Day approaching, it's a perfect time to pause and appreciate the hard work that goes into nurturing and educating our children. Whether at home or in the classroom, the dedication of our community makes a profound impact on our students' success. I hope you take this long weekend to enjoy some quality time with your loved ones, rest, and recharge.

Thank you for being an essential part of our CNE community. We look forward to continuing this great journey together.

With Rocket Pride,

Tim Sies

2024 OSBA Aptitude Award Recipient

The Ohio School Boards Association bestowed upon Julie Schmidt the 2024 OSBA Aptitude Award. The Aptitude Award is a distinct award and is part of OSBA's STAR Awards Program—Service, Training, Aptitude and Recognition.

Mrs. Schmidt is a recipient of this award due to commitment toward public education and the importance and dedication she attaches to her role as a school board member.

The OSBA Aptitude Award is presented to a very select group. Of the more than 3,400 board members in Ohio, only 62 will receive the honor in 2024. Julie will be recognized by OSBA for this achievement at the regional fall conference.

From the entire Rocket Community...Congratulations, Julie Schmidt!

No Ball Policy

Rocket Nation:

In consideration for the general safety and enjoyment of all spectators at Yeager Stadium on game night, we put into place on Friday evening (08/30/24) a "No Footballs allowed to be brought into the stadium" policy. I believe this policy will help protect the safety of all spectators and improve the game day atmosphere of our Friday night gatherings. What we have now are multiple "pick-up football games" going on in various spots around the stadium. Those pick-up games pose a safety issue as well as a distraction from the football team, the cheerleaders and the band who have worked so hard to put on a great evening.

I am asking that no one brings a football or any other type of ball into Yeager Stadium on game night. Those that do will kindly be asked to take the ball back out to the car. Thank you and Go Rockets!

Rocket Roundup

The CNE HS and MS student-athletes (SA) had an excellent week of sharpening their skills and competing in a week that was very hot and humid. A huge thanks to Matthew Ommert, our Mercy Health athletic trainer for helping our student-athletes stay hydrated and safe. We made a number of modifications to practices and contests to be as cautious as possible. I highly encourage all of our student-athletes to continue to hydrate on a daily basis and to maintain the highest level of nutrition possible and to get sufficient sleep. That is a big part of being an athlete and maintaining a heathy lifestyle. We have another great week of opportunity ahead of us. I look forward to observing the incremental improvements our individual SA's and teams will make. Go Rockets!
