  • School starts at 8:00 am for all students.

  • On the first day of school, August 13th (minimum day) parents are welcome to come onto campus and see their child off to school. Please enter through the north gate. (Please do not stay past 8:10 am) For student safety, starting August 14th, parents will not be allowed on campus.

  • Dismissal times will vary by grade. Daily schedules are posted on the school website and may be viewed through the following link: Bell Schedule 24-25

  • Student Drop Off & Pick Up: All Students will enter through the north gate entrance at the start of the school day. The gate will be closed promptly at 8:00 am. Students will be dismissed at the following gates:

    • TK-3rd grade: North Gate

    • 4th-8th grade: South Gate

  • School Valet Drop-Off: DO NOT park in the school valet area when dropping off your child. The valet area is designed for quick drop-offs to minimize congestion and potential accidents.

  • Our weekly shortened WEDNESDAYs schedule will continue throughout this school year, please plan accordingly.

  • IMPORTANCE of coming to school on time: Our goal is to maximize your child’s learning time: Arriving on time ensures that students do not miss important lessons, instructions, and activities that are often scheduled at the beginning of the school day. To allow ample time for your child to walk to their classroom and be ready to learn, I ask that you please arrive no later than 7:45 am.

  • School uniforms are as follows: (Tops: Polo style navy, white or light blue BOTTOMS: Khaki or Navy Blue). Students may also wear Granada School Spirit Attire (August 26 - September 6: Online Spirit Wear Locker Opens). All students must adhere to the AUSD District Dress Policy (Regulation 5132: Dress and Grooming)

  • Please remind your student(s) that no cell phone usage is allowed during school hours. BP 5131-Such devices must be turned off in class, except when being used for valid instructional or other school-related purposes as determined by the teacher or other district employee, and at any other time directed by a district employee. Any device with a camera, video, or voice recording function shall not be used in any manner which infringes on the privacy rights of any other person.

  • School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students at the start of the school year. Any changes will be communicated to our Granada community. Click Here to access the Food and Nutrition Services Website for additional information.

  • In-person TK/Kindergarten Student Orientation is scheduled for August 6, 2024, at 9:00 am.

  • Be an active member of our school community by being part of our School Site Council and English Learner Advisory Committee. Please visit our website for more information on how to be part of these committees.

  • You will be able to see your child’s classroom assignments by logging into the Parent Portal starting on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Link to Parent Portal

Please be aware that it may be necessary to change some students’ class placements in the next few weeks due to fluctuating enrollment numbers. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Parent requests to change to a particular teacher/classroom will NOT be accepted.

  • IMPORTANT: Please remember that all incoming 7th-grade students are required to submit proof of their TDAP vaccination before the school year starts. Please email your proof of TDAP vaccination to soria_rosa@ausd.us. If we do not receive proof of your child’s TDAP vaccination by August 12th at 3:00 pm, your child may NOT attend school on August 13th.

  • The office will open for regular business on August 1st.

I hope you and your child are excited to see what wonderful things await us this year. Your child will also be receiving additional information from their teacher.

We encourage you to visit the school website often and to subscribe to the calendar. Our website is updated with current events and a wealth of information and resources. Our school and district also utilize Blackboard Connect, a communication system that enables us to send out mass phone and/or email messages with important information to all parents. In order for the system to be effective, it is imperative that parents update the on-line information through the Parent Portal as soon as possible. We encourage all parents to include a current email address when they update their child’s information. More information and reminders are sent through email rather than voicemail.

For more information about our school or district, please visit the Alhambra Unified School District’s website www.ausd.us, Granada School’s website https://www.granadaelementary.org/

All members of the Granada School staff look forward to working with you to make this a successful school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office.

With warm regards,

Dr. Soria, Granada Elementary School

Help us ensure that Granada Elementary School receives the maximum amount of federal funds for our schools. The collection of household income is a necessary step to receive thousands of dollars in federal funds for the school that your child attends. All families should complete the Alternative Income Form (AIF), irrespective of their household income. One AIF per student is necessary.
