We have sent contract renewals out to our TREC members and hope to have contracts submitted by June 30, 2023. If you are adding any campuses or need to make changes to services, please let us know as soon as possible. If you haven't received your contract renewal, please email Shawna at sford@esc11.net.

If you have had changes in personnel in your district that impact TREC services, please update your information. We want to make sure we have the correct contacts for both Library Manager and Resource Manager so that we can ensure that everyone is staying up to date and receiving relevant information.

On April 20, 2023, there was a Destiny Discover update with the following enhancements. You can find this information by going to Destiny Discover -> More -> Help and then clicking on "What's New!"

• Promote more content areas on the homepage

  You can now add up to 15 custom carousels to the homepage and schedule when they appear. Use the virtual book displays to highlight resources that support the curriculum or a theme.

• Customize the name of the Topics carousel

  You can now change the name of the Topics carousel to be more relevant to your library. In addition, the carousel now matches the look and feel of the selected theme.

• Identify and see the status of MackinVIA titles

  MackinVIA™ eBooks and audiobooks now show a new material type icon and status indicator to help students and teachers quickly identify available digital resources.

• Search Bar improvements

  A more prominent Search bar and Material Type filter help students and teachers quickly find resources.

• Search Results improvements

  Search results have been improved to display more information, such as series.

In the next week or so, all TREC members will be updated to Destiny 20.0. With this update, the following enhancements will be made. An email will be sent out with more information.

We will be offering two virtual sessions in August for new library staff for our TREC members and encourage you to have any new library staff plan to attend one of these sessions. Your district must be a TREC member to participate. Space is limited, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible.

TREC Talks is a monthly webinar that we offer our TREC members. The topics vary from month to month. If you cannot attend the live session, we encourage you to go ahead and register if you are interested in the topic. We will send the recording of the webinar to all who registered.

We hope everyone is enjoying the 400 LightBox titles we added to district Destiny catalogs for our TREC members. Remember to share these with classroom teachers, as these nonfiction texts can support the curriculum. If you have questions or need help, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

As part of your TREC membership, you have access to approximately 350 eBooks that are appropriate for elementary students. To access these eBooks, visit www.brainhive.com and log in as a student. Search for TREC elem and then use the generic login. If you are unsure about the login information, email sford@esc11.net.

Note: We have a NEW TREC Help Desk System, which enables us to meet our members' Destiny needs in an effective and efficient manner. Please bookmark this site.

Here are some reminders that will help us help you:

• Submit your issue or question through the help desk system.
• Please include as much detail as possible so that we can get started on resolving your issue quickly.
• Ask your Technology team to ensure that trec@esc11.net is safe-listed in your district. This will prevent responses from being caught in your district SPAM filter.
• Check your SPAM filter if you are awaiting a response.
