Dear Parents:
We (COPIA Consulting – Rachel and Angie) are excited to inform you that Leander ISD has retained our services once again to host a series of Parent Symposiums specifically for parents of students that receive Special Education (SPED) services. For those of you that are new to the district or did not attend the first round of meetings in 2019 and 2020, the purpose of the meetings is to gather information from parents regarding your experiences with Special Education services in Leander ISD. In addition to collecting your feedback on the services your student(s) receives from the LISD, we will also share with you the recommendations we made after the first Symposium, and all of the changes in both policy and practice that were made as a result. This information will then be utilized to make any necessary changes and/or improvements, with the goal of providing your students with the highest quality services possible.
We do hope that you can attend one of the four sessions we will conduct in late October/early
November, as your feedback is very important to the district. We hope that you will feel very
comfortable sharing your experiences and any related concerns with us. Know that we will
provide LISD with a report that summarizes all of the feedback from parents, but that it
will all be de-identified so it cannot be traced to any one individual, and that no employees of
the district will be present in the meetings.
How to Attend
- Elementary Level: Tuesday, October 25th from 5-7pm
- Elementary Level: Monday, October 31st from 9-11am
- Secondary Level: Wednesday, October 26th from 5-7pm
- Secondary Level: Wednesday, November 2nd from 9-11am
