December 2025 Newsletter
Principal's Letter
Good afternoon, Greenbriar families and staff,
As we step into December, our building truly feels like a place of energy, kindness, and momentum. This month always brings a special mix of excitement and reflection—students are counting down to winter break, classrooms are full of learning and creativity, and our hallways remind us daily why this work matters.
I want to thank our students for showing up each day ready to grow, contribute, and support one another. Whether it’s in classrooms, electives, activities, or the simple way you include a classmate at lunch, you are helping make Greenbriar a strong, respectful community.
To our families: thank you for partnering with us. Your encouragement at home, your communication with teachers, and your steady support help our students stay grounded and successful through a busy season. We know December can be full of schedules and obligations, and we appreciate the way you continue to keep school a priority.
And to our staff: I am grateful for your professionalism, patience, and heart. This time of year demands a lot—academically and emotionally—and you meet it with care, consistency, and high expectations for every student. The culture we’ve built together doesn’t happen by chance. It happens because of you.
As we move through the final stretch of the semester, let’s keep focusing on what we do best:
strong routines,
meaningful learning,
positive relationships,
and a school community where every student feels seen and supported.
We also have some fun ahead. Student Council is bringing school spirit into the season with activities that help students feel connected and proud to be part of Greenbriar. In particular, we’re looking forward to their Holiday Tree Decorating Contest this month. It’s a great way for students to collaborate, celebrate creativity, and add a little joy to our building.
Thank you for being part of what makes Greenbriar such a special place. I hope this month brings your family peace, good health, and time to enjoy the people who matter most.
Warmly,
Jill E. Schissler
Greenbriar Middle School Principal
Cuyahoga County Board of Health Dental Program 5 - 6th Grade
We are pleased to share that the district is partnering with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to provide free dental services to our students in grades 5-6 in school. " Help protect your child's smile!" The free Dental Sealant Program will be at Greenbriar Wednesday, February 6th thru Tuesday, February 10th to apply sealants to 5th-6th graders' back molars - at no cost to families! Sealants help prevent cavities and keep your child's teeth healthy and strong. A consent form was sent home with your student in December. Please complete and return the form to your student's Homeroom Teacher by Tuesday, January 6th.
In addition, our High School Dental Career Technical Education (CTE) students will be given the opportunity to observe the dental professionals during this program as part of their training. This shadowing experience will allow our high school students to gain real-world exposure in a supervised setting. If you prefer that your child NOT be observed during the procedure, click on the link below to fill out the Parent Acknowledgement Form, print and return to your student's Homeroom Teacher by Monday, January 12th.
Parent Acknowledgement Parents who have already sent in their consent forms must sign and complete this form.
Ohio Dental Outreach 7 - 8th Grade
Parma City School District is excited to announce a new partnership with Ohio Dental Outreach to bring free and low-cost preventive dental services directly to our school for students in grades 7–12. With parent consent, students can receive exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and x-rays — and, for those who qualify, even restorative services such as fillings and simple extractions.
Licensed dental professionals will provide services on-site at Greenbriar on Friday, February 27th.
You can sign up in one of two ways:
A paper permission form will be sent home with your student by Tuesday, December 16th. Please complete the form and return to the Homeroom Teacher by Monday, January 12th.
OR Sign up online at www.myschooldentist.com → Enter your school’s zip code to find your school and complete the form.
This is a convenient way to keep your child’s smile healthy — without having to miss school!

You can't help but think of sports when describing Devari Robinson, our November Student of the Month. He plays life like a true athlete, an athlete any coach would want on the team. He stays organized and focused in class, making sure he reaches all learning goals. His competitive nature is a healthy one, celebrating the wins and shaking off the losses with a smile.
