The Dodge Dish
December 12, 2025
MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL NELSON
DMS Community,
As winter break approaches, our learners continue to amaze us with their achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. This year has been filled with milestones and moments that showcase the very best of our school community. Learners have had tremendous academic, social, and emotion growth, while consistently demonstrated what it means to demonstrated our core values of community, empathy, and purpose. These values are the foundation of who we are as a community at DMS.
We look forward to an exciting week leading up to break next week! As we approach the extended winter break, I hope our families have a restful and healthy time away as we look forward to 2026. As a reminder, this will be the final Dodge Dish of 2025. School will resume after winter break on Monday, January 5th.
Have a great weekend!
Andy Nelson, Principal

CAPTI ASSESSMENT
In accordance with the MN READ Act, some students identified in grades 4-9 at risk for reading difficulties will be taking an online reading screener identified by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) called Capti ReadBasix. CAPTI- ReadBasix has 6 subtests that assess reading foundational skills and the results will help educators pinpoint areas for targeted instruction and support student growth. Families of students identified to take this test will receive additional communication about it in December and the test will be administered in January. Please feel free to contact the DMS main office at 651-460-1500 with any questions.
