Committee of the Whole - Instructional Technology

District 41 is exploring the use of instructional technology in our schools. We define instructional technology as the use of digital tools, like laptops, tablets, apps, or online platforms, to support teaching and learning. It is not just about the devices themselves, but about using them in ways that make learning more engaging and effective for students.

If you are interested in learning more about this topic, please join the conversation at the Committee of the Whole Board of Education meeting on Monday, November 3. All are welcome! We will share information gathered from parents, staff, and students as well as offer an opportunity for engagement with all attendees.

Welcome to the Student Board of Education Members

Three Hadley 8th grade students were seated as Student Board member representatives at the October 20, Board of Education meeting. Welcome to Chloe King, Sophia Ligman, Joseph Maillet. Each student will represent one of the grade levels at Hadley and will serve for the remainder of this school year.

Chloe King attended Forest Glen Elementary School. She plays the ukulele in the Hadley group Triple Fret and is also a member of the Leo Club service organization.

Sophia Ligman attended Abraham Lincoln School. She plays the piano and is a competitive dancer.

Joseph Maillet attended Churchill School. He participates in track and cross country, is a member of the Hadley Orchestra, plays baseball, trains in Kung Fu, and is an active member in Boy Scouts.

The role of student Board members is to provide advisory input to the District 41 Board of Education. As student members, they have the unique ability to represent the student voice during Board conversations and decisions. Student Board members will not be voting members of the Board and they will not have access to confidential information.
