Hello Woodstock Family!
Much like the weather, we've got a little something for everyone this week!
Here are the highlights:
🍝The fun starts on Thursday with our second to last Dine Out at Pastini (Division). This Dine Out was such a big hit at the beginning of the school year that we're doing it again!
🍿🍩 Friday is truly packed! Start your day with a Donut Bike Bus featuring a surprise guest. After school, come by the playground to grab some popcorn, and order yearbooks and Spiritwear (last chance to order April 19). And, then round out your day with Pokemon BINGO! in the evening.
🌱🌎 Join the Garden Committee for a family-friendly Earth Day Celebration and School Clean-Up on Sunday, April 19!
This newsletter is a long one, but it is packed with great information about upcoming events and ways to get involved in our school and community! 💛🦁

Whether you know every evolution line by heart or you just learned Pikachu isn’t a cat, this night is going to be amaaaazing.
Zero Pokémon knowledge required. Maximum enthusiasm encouraged. Doors open early for trading, and pre‑game hype. Popcorn, snacks + drinks will be available for purchase.

Walk & Roll Committee
Bike Bus Special Guest + DONUTS
A Special Guest will join the SE 60th/Reedway Bike Bus this Friday, April 17! Both Bike Buses will roll and we will have donuts for all Bike Bus kiddos once we get to school. Learn more about how you can join the Bike Bus and find the updated route for the Northside Bike Bus here!
Earth Day Walk & Roll to School
Celebrate Earth Day by Walking and Rolling to School on Wednesday, April 22nd! Did you know that walking and rolling to school is not only good for your physical and mental health, but helps keep the Earth healthy by reducing carbon released into the air? We can all do our part to protect the Earth by making changes in how we get around. Choose to walk or roll for Earth Day! Both Bike Buses will roll for Earth Day and you are invited!
New StoryWalk featuring Lola Out Loud.
Lola Out Loud is a powerful and inspiring story, based on real-life civil rights activist and labor leader Dolores Huerta, reminding us that even our biggest heroes started out small.
Classroom teachers are encouraged to bring students to enjoy the StoryWalk and families are invited to check out the StoryWalk before or after school. This StoryWalk is being displayed near the north playground basketball courts until April 21st. The book is also available to check out from our school library. Thank you to the Woodstock PTA and Mrs. Lingo for your StoryWalk support!
PBOT is working to make it safer around Woodstock School
PBOT repainted the corners yellow and installed additional NO PARKING signs around Woodstock School to improve visibility at the corners. This is called daylighting. Do not park within 20 feet of the corners. When cars park at the corners, it makes it harder to see our children and families crossing the street and that makes it less safe for everyone walking, biking, and driving! Do not park where the curb is painted yellow, even for a few minutes as it makes it less safe for everyone!

Earth Day Celebration Volunteers for Kids Activities - Sunday, April 19 + Cardboard Donations
The Woodstock Garden Committee is looking for some volunteers to help out with kid's activities during the Woodstock Earth Day School Clean-up / Garden Work Party on Sunday, April 19. Volunteers will help with a variety of fun activities such as helping children paint flowerpots, help face paint, guide a scavenger hunt, etc.
Mr. Hunter is also asking for cardboard donations - the bigger the better, such as refrigerator boxes. This will be helpful in terms of laying it down in areas where grass and weeds are growing where we want to then cover with bark mulch. You can coordinate with Mr. Hunter by sending him an email (jhunter@pps.net).
Spring Festival Volunteers
Help us put on this year's Spring Festival on Saturday, May 15 from 3 - 5 pm! We need volunteers to help with day of activities including set up, monitoring the dunk tank and bounce house, and more! Can't help at the event? Consider donating an item for the bake sales, a park of bubbly water, or lend us a cooler!
Save the Day - Spring Festival!
