Dear Families, Students, and Community Members,

As we prepare to begin another exciting school year, I want to take a moment to express how honored and grateful I am to serve as your new Superintendent.

Having previously served as the Principal of Perry High School, I have had the privilege of building relationships with many of you. During that time, I have witnessed firsthand the pride that exists throughout our district, the unwavering commitment of our educators and staff, and the incredible support our community provides our schools. Those experiences have only strengthened my belief in what we can accomplish together.

Success in education requires a commitment to the process and clear district priorities, which I have listed below. It is made possible through the dedication of our teachers and staff, the support of our families, the leadership of our Board of Education, and a community that believes in its schools. As we prepare to open our doors for another school year, I encourage all of you to embrace the opportunities ahead with optimism, determination, and a shared commitment to excellence. I invite you to learn more about our Portrait of a Graduate initiative. Join us as we work together to ensure every Perry student is prepared for success in college, career, military service, and life.

Recent changes to legislation have significantly impacted public school funding. Throughout the year we will undoubtedly face challenges, as a result of this. One important topic this fall will be the district's renewal levy, which will appear on the November ballot. Our district understands the financial responsibilities families face and remain committed to being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars while always keeping the needs of our students at the center of every decision.

Note that November's levy is not new money. This renewal levy has remained unchanged since it was first approved in 1986. In the coming months, we will continue to provide factual information and financial updates to ensure we remain transparent with the community.

Below you will find several important resources to help your family prepare for a successful start of the school year. Be on the lookout for additional information coming from your student's Building Principal. I look forward to welcoming our students back into our buildings and wish each of you a safe, successful, and memorable school year.

Respectfully,

Tyler Turner

Superintendent
