Goalbook Pathways

There’s no such thing as an “average” student. Goalbook Pathways can help identify learning barriers and instructional strategies so that different students can have different pathways for success.

Thousands of ready-to-use resources equip educators to apply strategic practices.

We model exemplars of how to provide multiple levels of support for every learning activity so that all students can learn at a high level of rigor.

After logging on, you will be on the Pathways portion of the website. You can take a brief tour of the features and change your preferred grade and subjects if you wish.
Next, you can use the drop-down menus at the top of the page to search for resources.

For example, if you choose ELA, then Grade 5, you will see a screen that looks something like this...

You can then search for resources by topic or by standard. An example of a topic is "Theme."
Because there are multiple standards that focus on theme, you will get several options. If you click on "View Resources for RL.5.2," you will be able to view the resources available to help students learn to analyze theme.
Here you will find links to the many resources that support the topic, including:

  • assessment items
  • practice problems
  • quick assessments
  • printable worksheets
  • activities
  • reading passages
  • strategies and tools
  • planning guides
  • posters
  • templates
  • mini-projects
  • real-world projects

Check out this link to see the resources available on this Grade 5 ELA Teaching Resources page.

All practice and assessment items are specified by their Depth of Knowledge (DOK) level. This helps to ensure that all students receive rigorous instruction and practice at all levels.

Click on the pictures above to see how a DOK level 3 assessment problem has been modified to provide three different levels of support.

This allows us to incorporate rigorous, grade-level, standards-based instruction to students at varying levels of ability in one classroom.

You can search for resources by clicking the "More" drop-down menu. Here you can search for resources by topic or standard, or look specifically for reading passages, assessment items, mini-projects, or printable resources.
