Madison High School Updates
December 14th, 2025
Message from Mrs. Thomas
Employability is the fourth pillar of our HS PBIS Framework and MHS students have done a remarkable job in demonstrating the ability to show up each day, ready to learn. This year, our school district has adopted a district-wide goal of improving student attendance. To support these efforts, the high school offered an exam-exemption incentive to students who had zero countable absences and no more than two total tardies for the trimester. When we were planning for this year, our building leaders studied student attendance data from prior years. Last year we had less than 25 students who had zero countable absences and less than two tardies during the first trimester. This year, we had 159 students who finished the trimester with zero countable absences and no more than two tardies! That is over a 500% increase! We are extremely proud of this growth and appreciate parents encouraging and supporting your student to be in class each day. With improved student attendance, we have also seen an increase in student grades, as well as, an increase in the number of students qualifying for the first trimester merit trip.
Given the success of first trimester, we are again offering an exam-exemption incentive for students for the second trimester. You can review the criteria for the incentive here.
