Worthington Hills Weekly Update
October 2, 2026
Dear Worthington Hills Families,
Conferences, conversations, and collaboration! Thank you to everyone who took time to connect with teachers this week. These conversations help us celebrate student growth and work together to support each child's success. If your conference is scheduled for next week, we look forward to connecting with you soon!
A special thank you to our wonderful PTA for stocking the staff lounge with snacks as our teachers stayed late to meet with caretakers. That extra boost of appreciation went a long way after a full day of teaching!
Be sure to read through the rest of the newsletter for upcoming events and important reminders. Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing our Hawkeyes back soon!
Gratefully,
Aquarius Hopkins
Principal

Once Upon a Pumpkin...
We’re growing a storybook pumpkin patch at Worthington Hills Library, and we need YOU to help our pumpkin patch grow! We’re inviting all our little bookworms to bring their favorite storybook characters to life by transforming an ordinary pumpkin into an extraordinary character. Let’s turn the pages and get PUMPKIN creative! Click here for all the details!
Halloween Parties
We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate Halloween with us on Friday, October 30th! We have planned a fun-filled day for our students, and we would love to have you join us.
Here are the details:
Costume Parade: 2:00 p.m. on the playground (weather permitting)
Classroom Parties: 2:15 p.m.
All families are welcome to attend the parade on the playground to watch your child show off their costume! For classroom parties, we ask that only our designated room parents join us in the classrooms. Please remember to sign in at the office and wear your visitor sticker before heading to any classroom.
As you prepare your child's costume, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- No pretend weapons are permitted at school.
- Masks or costumes that cover the face are not allowed.
- Your child should be able to wear the costume to school or put it on independently.
Please note that parking will not be available in our lot during this time, as busses will be arriving. We kindly ask that you park on Clubview or walk to school instead.
In the event of inclement weather, the parade will move indoors, and we will be unable to accommodate visitors. Fingers crossed for sunny skies!
As always, please remember that we are a nut-free school district. Please do not send any items containing nuts for classroom parties.

We are a NUT FREE District
This serves as a reminder that there are some students in your child’s school who have peanut and/or tree nut allergies. As the safety of our children is paramount to all, we need your support to make our cafeteria “nut free”. A child with a nut allergy can suffer a serious reaction merely by touching a food containing a peanut or tree nut. Therefore, we ask that you adhere to the following safety guidelines:
Please do not send in any peanuts, peanut butter or foods containing peanuts or peanut butter to be eaten during lunch.
Read ingredient labels carefully to ensure that the snacks sent in with your child are peanut and tree nut-free.
Please do not hesitate to contact our Health Office Assistant, Gabby Bowman, RN @ gbowman@wscloud.org or our School Nurse, Beth Laflumboise RN @ elaflumboise@wscloud.org with any questions or concerns about food allergies. They can also be reached at 614-450-4015.
