The Eagle Eye
Oak Hill United School Corporation - March 2026
Hardman's Happenings
Hello Oak Hill Families,
The third quarter of the school year ended on March 6th, and it is hard to believe we have already started the fourth and final quarter of the school year. Where has the time gone?!
Around 5:00 p.m. today, you will receive an email and phone notification letting you know that your child’s third quarter report card is available to view, along with directions on how to access it. You can also view your child’s third quarter grades by logging into your Skyward Family Access account, selecting your child, and clicking on their Gradebook. The third quarter grades are listed under the Q3 column.
We also have several important projects planned across the district. We will be finishing the playground installations at each of our elementary schools, which were delayed due to early winter weather last fall. In addition, we are planning an HVAC project that would replace heating and cooling units in all school buildings, along with parking lot maintenance and paving and the annual facility updates that take place during school breaks and over the summer.
On the athletics front, our boys basketball team will be playing for a Regional Championship on Saturday, March 14th at 4:00 p.m. in Frankfort against Benton Central. If they win, they will advance to Semi-State on Saturday, March 21st. We wish them the best of luck as they continue their tournament run! Let’s go Eagles!
Spring Break is almost here! I have really enjoyed the snippets of warmer weather we’ve experienced recently and hope the weather really warms up after break. I hope your family is able to spend some quality time together during this break, as those moments are often the best way to recharge. Our family always looks forward to that time as well, just getting away and enjoying time together without a busy schedule.
Oak Hill Schools will not be in session from Friday, March 20th through Sunday, March 29th. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back on Monday, March 30th.
Thank you for your continued support of Oak Hill Schools. Your partnership plays an important role in helping our district grow and improve each day. We have had a great year so far, and I am confident we will finish the school year strong with your continued engagement in your child’s education.
Yours in Education,
Sheri Hardman

Sweetser Snapshot
This past month has been jam-packed with fun, learning, and special events here at Sweetser Elementary! 💛
We kicked things off with festive Valentine’s Day parties that filled our classrooms with smiles, treats, and lots of kindness. Not long after, we hosted our very first Daddy/Daughter Dance at Sweetser Elementary — and what a magical evening it was! It was so special to see our families enjoying time together and making memories on the dance floor.
In addition to celebrating Presidents’ Day, our fourth graders had an incredible opportunity to welcome an Abe Lincoln impersonator, who brought history to life by sharing stories about his life and presidency. The students were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and truly enjoyed this unique learning experience.
Academically, our students have been working hard as well! We have successfully completed Checkpoint #2 for ILEARN, and students are finishing the first round of IREAD testing by March 13th. Recently, you received a Skyward email from me regarding the Family Access Portal, where you can look up your child’s ILEARN and IREAD scores. Your unique access code has been sent in a separate email from the IDOE. We are so proud of the focus and effort our students have shown during this busy season. Thank you for your continued support at home — it truly makes a difference! 🌟
Best,

Greetings from Oak Hill Junior High
Oak Hill Junior High School continues to push forward towards spring break. It seems impossible that once the students return from spring break that we only have 8 weeks left in the 2025-26 school year. The staff and students have been gearing up and working hard as we approach ILEARN testing which will start on Tuesday, April 14th. The testing will occur over a two week period and hopefully be finished on Tuesday, April 21st (weather depending). Additional information about ILEARN will be sent to parents once students return from spring break. It is important that students give their best efforts, get plenty of sleep and rest, and eat a good, healthy breakfast during the two weeks of testing. The junior high staff hopes the growth we’ve seen with all of our students carries over to our students’ ILEARN scores! Oak Hill High School will continue to have tutoring available for JH students after school on Thursdays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm. HS Tech Info for Spring Break:
Hello Parents/Guardians of OHHS Students,
Thank you for supporting your student(s) and our staff this school year. We feel it's been a successful three quarters and we look forward to finishing strong. To help your student be prepared, specifically with a charged Chromebook, for his/her return to school after Spring Break Friday March 20 - Monday, March 30, 2026 we have provided some guidance.
Over the Spring Break, please follow these directions to help ensure your Chromebook works as expected when you return to class on March 30, 2026.
On the first evening of break (March 20, 2026):
Charge your Chromebooks so that the battery is at 100% and fully charged.
This ensures that even when the battery discharges while unplugged over the break, it won’t run out of power.Turn off bluetooth, mute the volume, shut down the Chromebook, unplug it from a power source, and store it in a safe place.
A few days before classes resume, get the Chromebooks ready for class:
Power up your device and if necessary, charge your Chromebooks so that the battery is at 100% and fully charged again.
REMEMBER: Your chromebook is only charging correctly when there is a visible light on the charger, a light on your device (usually the upper right corner above the keyboard) and a lightning bolt in the battery icon on the screen by the time display.
Connect your Chromebooks to Wi-Fi and update them to the latest Chrome OS release, if necessary.
Store the device safely in a spot where it will not be forgotten on the first day back to school.
Any issues with your device that occur over break should be brought into the library on Monday morning, March 30, 2026.
Thanks for following these suggestions.
Have a wonderful Spring Break!

Cooper McQuiston - Freshman Student of the Month
Cooper McQuiston has been a joy to have in my Agriculture class. He works hard with his studies and is very active in FFA. He provides a lot of excitement and a high level of energy to the classroom and our FFA chapter. He's also an outstanding swimmer who placed 4th in the state in the 100 freestyle and 200 Medley Relay, 5th in the 200 freestyle, along with a 7th place finish in the 200 Free Relay! Four top 8 finishes in the pool at state! Congratulations, Cooper!
Haylie Turnpaugh - Sophomore Student of the Month
As a new addition to the Oak Hill High School community since last year, Haylie has made an immediate and lasting impression through both academic excellence and admirable character.
From the outset, she has demonstrated a consistently productive work ethic. Haylie approaches assignments with diligence and focus, consistently delivering work that reflects both effort and thoughtfulness. In class, she actively participates, showing a genuine desire to learn and grow, and encouraging the same in peers.
Equally notable is Haylie’s integrity. Whether working independently or in group settings, she upholds high ethical standards and models honesty and responsibility. Teachers and fellow students alike appreciate the dependability and fairness she brings to every interaction.
What truly sets Haylie apart is her amicable spirit. As a second-year student at Oak Hill, she has integrated seamlessly into the school community, treating everyone with kindness and respect. Her warm demeanor and approachable nature have made her not only a well-liked classmate but also a positive influence on campus culture.
It is rare to see a student make such a meaningful impact in such a short time, and I believe Haylie fully embodies the qualities we value here at Oak Hill High School.
Faith Landreneau - Junior Student of the Month
Faith always turns in work that is completed above expectations. She works well in class, responds when called upon, and has an excellent attitude. She is a positive example to her peers. Thank you for being such a great student, Faith!
Jerald Graves - Senior Student of the Month
Joining a new school like Oak Hill can be a challenge, especially as a senior, but Jerald has turned that challenge into a success story. Not only is he crushing it in the classroom and his extracurriculars, but he’s also stepped up as a cadet teacher, helping younger kids learn to swim. I love seeing his leadership and his 'never-quit' attitude in action. He felt like everyone was well ahead of him in the beginning, so it has been fun to see him succeed week after week in the classroom. I am grateful that he came to Oak Hill!
Danielle Wilson - OHHS Staff Member of the Month
Mrs. Danielle Wilson brings an infectious energy into her classroom day in and day out. Students are consistently challenged in her classroom to think outside of their previous experiences in life and see the world around them in new ways. She is always finding new ways in which to bring her classroom instruction to life by bringing in guest speakers and in finding opportunities for kids to get off campus to make connections in the real world.
