Meet Principal Alexandra Rosado Rodriguez

Alexandra Rosado was born and raised in Puerto Rico and is a first-generation college graduate. In 2014 she moved to Texas with her husband and two children to continue her mission as an educator and social justice pioneer.

For the past 18 years, Mrs. Rosado has dedicated her life to championing all of the students who have come through her life, and by providing high-quality and equitable educational experiences, she created unique and memorable learning opportunities for all her students.

She is a lifelong learner, and her deep love and passion for education and excellence led her to pursue multiple college degrees, as she knew education was the most significant catalyst to change the world. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Master's in special education with a major in minor impairments from the University of Puerto Rico. Furthermore, Mrs. Rosado holds an M. Ed in Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin. During her teaching tenure in her hometown, she had the opportunity to be a high school special education teacher for nine years, and she focused on collaboration and developing strong partnerships with parents, teachers, and the community to ensure all the students graduated college-career ready.

After joining Dallas ISD in 2014, she found a new home. She continued walking toward her purpose, learning and growing from great transformational leaders and role models, and experiencing authentic teaching and leadership opportunities offered by Dallas ISD. She has served as a bilingual elementary kindergarten and third-grade reading teacher, successfully leading all her students to achieve and exceed grade-level expectations by preparing them with 21st-century skills and becoming critical and analytical thinkers. Furthermore, she served as campus instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal resident at different transformational and high-performing campuses in DISD, like Blanton, Titche, Pleasant Grove, and Rogers Elementary. Mrs. Rosado has successfully supported each campus to cultivate a climate and culture conducive to teaching and learning, school pride, belonging, and joy, maintain their accomplished or breakthrough ratings, and attain double-digit growth year-on-year.

Mrs. Rosado believes every child deserves the opportunity to choose the life they want to live, regardless of their circumstances or zip code. Her vision is that every student in the school is seen, known, heard, grown, and challenged daily. She is committed to collaborating with parents, teachers, and the community in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment of high expectations, inspiring relationships, and equitable opportunities where all students can thrive academically and emotionally. Her vision and mission are driven by her core values of courage, compassion, resilience, perseverance, and excellence.

Though Mrs. Rosado's official full-time start is on July 17th, she is transitioning now by collaborating the leadership team, attending trainings and meetings, and reviewing the master schedule and Campus Improvement Plan. Please, feel free to contact Mrs. Rosado with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share at alrosado@dallasisd.org. She knows it is going to be a meaningful and fun new phase of Esperanza "Hope" Medrano ES where together our students will continue to shine!
