It’s hard to believe November is already upon us! October was packed with fun and meaningful experiences for our students. Our fourth graders took part in swimming lessons, building both skills and confidence in the water. We celebrated the season with a festive Trunk-or-Treat and classroom fall parties, bringing lots of smiles and excitement throughout the building. Parent/teacher conferences have also been underway, offering valuable time for families and teachers to connect. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, we encourage you to reach out to your student's teacher.

As we turn the page to November, take a moment to check out what's in store...

Lunch Update Lunch Update

Starting in November, the Primary lunch menu will include four choices daily, with the “hot alternate” item removed for now. This adjustment is meant to simplify options for our younger students. Aramark and the Food Service Department plan to review and possibly reintroduce the fifth option later in the school year.

1. Main entrée

2. Salad or Platter

3.Sandwich or Pack (This does not mean “packer” this is one of the options)

4 PBJ

InView Testing InView Testing

This month, our second grade students will take the InView test, which helps us understand how they think and solve problems. It looks at skills like reasoning, patterns, and number sense, and is used to help identify students for gifted and enrichment programs. The results give us helpful insights to support each child’s learning. Each year, students in Grade 2 take the InView test across the West Shore School District!

Drop-off and pick-up Drop-off and pick-up

A quick reminder about arrival and dismissal safety: Please be sure to follow the designated traffic flow; there is only one way in and one way out of our lot. During pick-up, we ask all families to use a marked parking spot and avoid stopping in unmarked areas. Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe and ensures a smooth process for all!

Giving Tree

The holiday season is quickly approaching. Red Mill will again be offering assistance through our Giving Tree Program. This program is available to families who attend Red Mill Elementary and who are not receiving support with gifts from other agencies or organizations.

Through the generous help from families, community members and local businesses we are able to help make this season brighter for others. If you are in need of gifts for your child, please contact Stephanie Shughart at SShughart@wssd.k12.pa.us by November 14th.

Children's Grief Awareness Day

Children's Grief Awareness Day seeks to bring attention to the fact that support can make all the difference in the life of a grieving child. It provides an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child. To acknowledge and recognize this, we ask that everyone join us in wearing blue on November 20th.
