Title Programs: Parent Information
The Meramec Valley R-III School District receives Title I, Title II, and Title IV federal funding. The purpose of Title programs is to provide all children a significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education and to close educational achievement gaps. This critical funding supports our Title Reading teachers, STEAM clubs, Student Learning Nights, and class size reduction teachers. Learning in Action
News from the Nurse
Vision and Hearing Screenings will be November 3rd.
Counselor Corner
This week's counseling lesson was focused on Mental Health: Thoughts, Feelings and Actions. Students explored how thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected and practiced using strategies to replace unhelpful thoughts ("I suck at math", "No-one likes me") with helpful thoughts (This math is hard but I am going to try my best", "I want to play with those kids and be their friend so I am going to go ask to join their kickball game" to support their mental health.
We also named trusted adults that are in our lives that they can talk to when/if they feel down, sad, frustrated about things/have unhappy thoughts.
Library News
We are currently at 25,178 Beanstack minutes!
Goal: 50,000 by November 12th.

Oasis Tutoring
Do you know someone 50 or older who would be interested in helping a child build confidence and succeed in reading and math?
Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring pairs volunteers aged 50 and above with students in grades K–3 to provide one-on-one support each week throughout the school year. Volunteers can work with one child or several students as tutors, mentors, and friends, helping students strengthen their reading and math skills while building meaningful relationships.
If you or someone you know would enjoy making a difference in a child’s education, sign up today! stloasis.org/tutoring

Volunteering
Volunteering helps create a positive community, makes school better, and increases student achievement.
If you plan to volunteer or attend field trips you will first need to complete the background check process. Two background checks are now required, and the process takes up to 10 days to complete.
We suggest families plan ahead and complete the process prior to the start of the school year. Volunteers should review the links below. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
SACC
If your child needs morning childcare before 8:05 am, contact the Nike SACC office at 636-271-1484 for information about the School Age Child Care Program registration.

District Food Protocal- NEW
Snacks and Celebrations:
Schools and parents are encouraged to be creative in celebrating without food but if you would like to provide a treat for a celebration or the class as snack please follow the approved Healthy List of Foods/Smart Snack in School nutrition standards
Birthday celebrations at school can be celebrated with treats or trinkets. The treats should follow the approved Healthy List of Foods.
Food Service
At Meramec Valley R-III School District, we remain committed to ensuring every student has access to healthy, nutritious meals that support their learning and success in the classroom. While we have been proud to provide free breakfast over the last two years, it has been funded at a shortfall, and the district has been making up the difference to cover the cost. As a result, the district will no longer be able to provide free breakfast to all students.
To help families navigate these changes, we highly encourage everyone to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application. Eligibility guidelines change from year to year, and many families who may not have qualified in the past find that they do now. This application will be available at Open House. Approved applications not only assist your family with meal costs but also ensure our schools continue to receive other vital funding.
Money for your child's meal account can be deposited online or brought to school in an envelope with the student's name and grade.
If you have any immediate questions regarding free or reduced lunch applications, please reach out to Michelle Dawson at (636) 271-1428 or email Michelle at mdawson@mvr3.k12.mo.us.
