Kimball School District

As we wrapped up the first two weeks of school, we want to take a moment to thank you for the trust you place in us each day with your children. These first two weeks have been filled with excitement, laughter, and the joy of seeing students reconnect with friends and dive into new learning.

Of course, there have also been the little adjustments—remembering routines, finding classrooms, and building confidence in new environments—but we’ve been so proud of the resilience and positivity our students have shown.

It has been a blessing to watch them settle in, and we are deeply grateful for the support and encouragement you provide at home. Together, we are laying the foundation for a year filled with growth, kindness, and success.

At Kimball School, doors open at 7:45 am. For safety reasons, students will need to wait outside until that time—even in cold or rainy weather—as staff are not available to supervise before 7:45. Likewise, staff leave the building by 3:50 pm, so please plan for students to be picked up before then.

Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal times safe and smooth!

Daily Schedule:

• Doors open: 7:45 am

• Breakfast: 7:50–8:05 am

• First bell: 8:03 am

• School starts: 8:08 am (students are tardy at 8:09)

• Dismissal: 3:20 pm for Elementary and 3:25 pm for Middle/High School

School announcements—such as weather-related late starts, early dismissals, or cancellations—as well as reminders about Kimball School District events, can be sent to you through text notifications. To sign up, download the “Kimball School District” app from the App Store or Google Play.

Please remember, this is the way you’ll be notified when schedules change due to weather—the school does not call individual families.

Also, be sure your phone number is current in both Campus and with the school office. You’ll continue receiving text alerts as long as your contact information is accurate and you’ve accepted notifications.

Within the app, we are also utilizing the Rooms feature. This is where you can see announcements about students' classes, clubs, and sports, and communicate with teachers. If you need help logging in or have any questions about Rooms, please get in touch with Ms. Olson.

As many of you visited the South Dakota State Fair this past weekend, we hope you had a chance to stop by and see all the Kimball Elementary art on display. There were many ribbons awarded for all of our kiddos' hard work. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Bruckner for making this opportunity possible for our students.
