Dear UU Family,

This week, we celebrate so much... Lag BaOmer, Teacher Appreciation Week, Cinco de Mayo, Anti-Bullying Day, Mother's Day... and undoubtedly there are holidays I'm leaving out!

In the midst of all this revelry, I encourage us to stay grounded, to stay grateful, and to remember the many ways and the many people whose choices ensure that love prevails in our community.

Love around our UU takes on many forms, but chief among those is giving and volunteerism.

Thank you to all of you who have pledged for the 2026-2027 year! Your monthly contributions make the work of the Family Ministry staff possible.

Haven't pledged yet? No worries. It's not too late.

Please click here to set up an automatic monthly payment between your bank and UUFH's bank. Then, to make sure the pledge team is aware of your monthly contribution and can budget it in, fill out this form. The whole process takes 3-4 minutes tops, does our congregation a world of good, and in turn benefits our entire Hendersonville community.

UU's are also so good about volunteering! Big thanks to all of you and your helping hands! Volunteering looks like lots of things...picking up members who can't drive, guiding lessons for the Sunday school students, cleaning craft and snack tables, holding tiny hands, and gently guiding little people through big feelings.

Family Ministry simply would not bloom without the generosity of our volunteers, whose care creates a welcoming and joyful space for children and families every single week.

I'd like to offer special gratitude to the mothers and grandmothers among us who so often carry

invisible constellations of care, both within their own families and throughout our congregation.

Your wisdom, patience, humor, and steady presence helps shape a community where everyone

can grow. Thank you to every volunteer who gives time, energy, creativity, and heart to this shared work. You are the quilt-makers of our beloved community, stitching together kindness, connection, and belonging one Sunday at a time.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and nurturing hearts in our UU family! At UUFH, you are loved and your children are cherished!

Love,

Sunday Shae
