Mrs. Elliott's Message
It feels like so much has happened these past two weeks at Maple! From MAP testing and field trips to Literacy on the Lawn, our school has been buzzing. Students have been working hard to show how much they've grown this year and we are so PROUD of them!
I would like to thank the volunteers who were able to spend some time reading to our students. Although it was too wet for the lawn, they enjoyed the beautiful HOT weather, reading outdoors. Thank you to our PTA for setting up a Meet the Illstrator experience for students. Local Illustrator, Kim Soderberg, shared a presentation on Friday that dicussed the magic of creating books!
Upcoming Dates
- 5/21 ~ Maple PTA Meeting 6:30pm in Media Center

- 5/29 ~ Grade 3 Picnic at Little Clague Park

I wanted to take a moment to thank every family that was able to donate to our PTA Read-a-Thon fundraiser. The students were reading nonstop and together we raised over $11,000!!!! The majority of this money goes directly to our PTA to operate next year. Prizes will be announed this week. Thank you!!!
As May is typically a very busy time of year, the next two weeks are no different. It seems that each day holds something special for our students. Next week marks the last five day week of the year. We intend to enjoy the time we have left of the 2024-2025 school year!
Hoping for SUNSHINE,
Mrs. Elliott
Literacy on the Lawn 📚
Please use the link below to check out some of the FUN that we had this past Friday at Literacy on the Lawn! Again, thank you to our volunteers!!
Field Trips
This year our 1st graders got to travel to the Rocky River Nature Center, right here in our own backyards! Please consider taking a visit there this summer, as our students had a blast seeing the Ohio Wildlife!
Our 2nd grade students visited the Great Lakes Science Center in downtown Cleveland this year! This hands-on experience deepend their study of weather and other science topics.
This past week, our 3rd graders traveled back in time when visiting Hale Farm and Villiage. The weather was perfect, as students learned what life was life decads ago!
3rd Grade Clapout 🦅
Our 3rd Grade Clap Out is scheduled for the last day of school on June 3rd. For families that would like to attend, please arrive at Maple by 1:30. Parking will be limited, so consider using a side street (Frank or Oxford Oval) and walking to the school.
Our clap out will take place outside the school, weather permitting. Once you park, please line up in the back of the school to "clap out" our third graders.
If you plan to attend the clap out and would like to leave with your child, please fill out the survey below so we can have them bring their things with them during the clap out. We will need to have all parents/cars clear by 2:30 to prepare for our dismissal process. Thank you for your help with this!
Summer Camps
The summer season is just around the corner! Our athletic programs have several camps lined up for our youth. Stay active this summer and sign up for one or more of our camps listed below. Questions? Please reach out to the individuals listed below for each camp. We can't wait to see our young Eagles this summer! https://secure.smore.com/n/z45j0
