Principal Duckworth's Notes

I hope that you have had a nice relaxing, exciting and full summer. We only have a couple more week until school resumes.

First, I would like to thank all of you for your kind words, gifts, flowers, thoughts, and prayers during my absence. I assure you that I am feeling better than ever and I am ready to make this the best year thus far!

I want to also thank my wonderful staff for doing what they know to do, which is ensuring that the students are learning as they should and maintaining the integrity of the school. I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Judy D'Arcangelis for attending to Northglade while I was away. Thank you all for working with her and making her feel part of this awesome Northglade family. Additionally, thank you to Northglade's P.T.O. for helping to make things go smoothly and for all that you do.

To my new Northglade Families, WELCOME!! We are excited to have you as part of the team!! You will soon learn how unique this school is and how much we care about each of our families. I hope to meet you at Popsicles on the Playground.

Below you will find important information that you may want to take note of.

Why?

Join teachers, staff, and other Northglade families for popsicles & fun on the playground! Meet your teacher and other classmates.

This event will take place outside.

A school-wide Open House will take place later in the fall.

We are so excited to have all of our students back. For grades K - 5, the first day will be a half day of school, dismissing at 12:06 pm. Tuesday, August 26, Pre-K students will join us for their first day. We will have school Monday - Thursday this week. Friday, August 29, and Monday September 1, there will be no school, in observance of Labor Day.

Here is the schedule for the first two weeks of school:

Monday, August 25th

½ Day of School

(No Pre-K, Dismissal at 12:06)

Tuesday, August 26th

First Full Day of School

(1st Day for Pre-K -Dismissal at 11:50 am & 3:50 pm)

Friday, August 29

&

Monday, September 1st

No School

(Labor Day Weekend)

Tuesday, September 2nd

First Day for of 2nd week

When your student arrives on the first day, all teachers will be outside with a sign with their name on it. Hopefully, you attended the Popsicles on the Playground and know your student knows their teacher's name. They will find their teacher and join their line. If you do not know your teachers name, you will find an adult with a list, they will be holding signs as well, and get your teachers name.

Kindergarteners and preschoolers, will meet their teachers on the colored payment, in the courtyard with the tree, by the side door, daily.

There will be plenty of helpers to assist students finding their teachers.
