How do we begin the day at CCS?

With a song and Bible teaching! We love our morning devotion time!

At the lower school campus, PK through 6th Grade begin the day in the gym with a song of worship, a scripture devotion, and the doxology. For students in the upper school, morning singing and devotion happens between 1st and 2nd period classes each day.

Monday and Tuesday there were many roads with icy conditions. The same was true for the decking between 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes! Mr. Yearwood and Ms. Annadeidra made sure that surfaces were safe for walking before school resumed on Wednesday.

Mrs. Frame's class finished up learning about winter weather by making their own snow.

Preschoolers celebrated surpassing the 100 day mark and being "101 Days Smarter" by having a 101 Dalmatian themed day.

This week Juniors and Seniors learned more about ordering class rings and graduation supplies. Mr. Randy Brock with Campus Recognition (Jostens) was on campus to talk with students about options.

Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade have been completing their mid-year MAP Growth assessments. This data helps classroom teachers gauge the progress of students and adjust instruction.

Art class each week is always a favorite!

Upper school students listened in for the latest updates from Mr. Yearwood about AHSAA play and new alignments for next year.

The Archery Team completed in the Guntersville Classic on Friday. There are several new members on the team this year and dedicated parents who are helping coach. The next tournament, the Future Campions Kick Off Classic, will take place next weekend on February 6th and 7th.

There will be two application dates for the 2026-2027 academic year – one for renewing family applications and one for new family applications.

• A renewing family application pertains to a family with participating student(s) that received a CHOOSE Act ESA digital wallet for the 2025-2026 academic year. These families can renew current participating students and add siblings of participating students starting December 15, 2025, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026. A renewing family must renew. It is not an automatic renewal.
• A new family application pertains to a family that has not previously applied for CHOOSE Act Alabama; or a family applicant that applied for the 2025-2026 academic year but was either not awarded, or did not complete the award affidavit in ClassWallet. These families can apply starting on January 2, 2026, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026.

The PTF will be hosting a Bake Sale in February. Use SignUp Genius to participate.

The PTF (for lower school) and SGA (for upper school) will be selling Valentine Candy Grams and Crush Grams in February. Grams will be delivered on Friday, February 13th.

Order forms are due by Tuesday, February 10th.

The Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys had two great wins on Senior Night against St. Bernard. These area games helped determine seeding for the Area Tournament.

The Varsity Girls picked up an outstanding road win against the Hanceville Bulldogs on Friday.

Monday, February 2nd (Youth Night) will be the last regular season game. Post season play begins Friday, February 6th. The Varsity Girls have captured the No.2 seed and will play No.3 Addison on Friday at 4:00 PM. The Varsity Boys will also face Addison at 5:30 PM. Both games will be hosted at Meek High School.

The Youth Basketball Teams will be joining the Varsity Teams for a special spirit night on Monday, February 2nd.

NOTE THIS CHANGE: Both Girls and Boys will be recognized at the February 2nd games. The games scheduled for February 3rd have been cancelled.

NEON SHIRT ORDERS:

For people who ordered neon shirts --- They will be delivered to school on Monday, February 2nd.

If you attend a youth game on a Saturday, chances are you will see a great group of cheerleaders cheering them on! We are thankful for these hard-working ladies and all their support. Go Lions!

It was another great Saturday of youth basketball for our Lions. County tournament games will start next weekend.
