Bronco Nation Update

We are Bronco Nation. We will leave a LEGACY.

Bronco NationUpdateWe are Bronco Nation. We will leave a LEGACY.

Start with Hello Week

As a district, MISD will observe Start With Hello Week the week of August 30-Sept. 3. At Legacy, we traditionally host Howdy Week during the first full week of school. So, we are calling our Start With Hello Week "Hello Beautiful".

Start With Hello Week is a dedicated time for each campus to focus on the power of connectedness, kindness, and helping one another. Start With Hello is an initiative begun by the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation.

Check out our plan for "Hello Beautiful" Week below.

Campus COVID Protocols

I've received some communication from parents asking about our efforts as a campus to keep students and staff as safe as possible.

Here’s what we are doing as a campus. We have done several things this year to maintain our safety protocols from last year.:

-We do have hand sanitizers available all over the building. We never removed them from last year. They are restocked often.

-We have two lunch tables set up with the dividers from last year for students who prefer to eat in a space using the dividers. We also allow students to spread out and sit in other areas of the cafeteria if they want to.

-We have kept the 4 lunch periods from last year. We’ve always had 3 lunch periods in the past. We decided to keep 4 separate lunch periods to spread the kids out more.

-We have over 2400 students this year. There are more students in the halls and cafeteria. We do a staggered dismissal each day releasing students by floor so that they are not all standing around in large crowds in the hallways. Arrival is naturally staggered due to the different arrival times of students each morning.

-Our custodians still wipe down door handles often and clean classrooms every day.

-We have masks on campus for students who ask for one. They are located at the front desk, the nurse’s office and all AP offices.

-Teachers still clean desks off and have hand sanitizer in their classrooms for students to use.

-Custodians will continue to deep clean the classrooms where any positive students or staff were present.

-Close Contacts? Our campus nurse receives the names of close contacts from the classroom teachers. She communicates those names to Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH). TCPH will make contact with the student's parents if he/she was a close contact. The school will no longer do contact tracing. TCPH will do the contact tracing.

-Notification Letters? The entire campus (parents, students and staff) will receive a general notification if a student or staff member reports a positive test. Starting Monday 8/30/21, parents will receive a second notification letter at the classroom level. If your student was in a classroom with a positive person, you will be notified with a separate notification/email - a second letter.

Here is the district webpage to explain the district stance on COVID Protocols along with a district wide dashboard of the number of cases: https://www.mansfieldisd.org/news-events/newsroom/news-content/~board/district-news/post/misd-updates-communicable-diseases-protocols

Please know that we are all exercising caution and giving students opportunities to opt out of large group activities.

Student Device Help (Chrome Books)

A weblink to our MISD Technology student help ticket has been pushed out to the Class Link portals of intermediate, middle and high school students.

When students click the icon, it will take them directly to our student help desk request URL.

See the screenshot of the icon attached.

Students select this icon when they
