Fairmount Park Elementary Vision Statement
to connect every child to themselves, others, and possibilities
Message from the Principal
Hello Fairmount Park Families,
This week, we’ll begin our fall Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing! The fall testing window is October 12–23. Teachers will schedule these assessments during the school day based on what works best for their classroom routines.
MAP is a standardized assessment that helps us understand your child’s current skills in reading and math. Fall results give us a starting point to measure student growth when we test again in the winter and spring. Your child’s teacher will share these results, along with other information about your child’s learning, during fall conferences.
Students are better prepared to do their best when they are well-rested and have had breakfast. Our cafeteria offers breakfast beginning at 7:35 a.m. each school day for those who would like to take advantage.
Have a wonderful week!

🫂Kindness
Last week, we celebrated Custodian Appreciation Day! We are so grateful to Mr. Samuel and Mr. Dang for all they do to keep our school clean, safe, and running smoothly. They go above and beyond every day, taking on special projects like the meditation walk pictured below. They also lend a helping hand to students in the lunchroom and hallways. We are lucky to have them as such an important part of our Fairmount Park community.

Material Menus
Teachers support students by providing both verbal directions and visual reminders. These visual supports help students remember which materials they need to have with them to complete an assignment independently.
